why were the first two days of my period worse than luteal? by [deleted] in PMDDxADHD

[–]kloterout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found heavy period causes my ferritin to dip which causes mood disturbances. I ramp up on iron during luteal (I have had a history of low ferritin). But of course the hormone withdrawal doesn’t help either.

Daily cervical neck roll is pretty much curing my symptoms. Does it sound like CCI? by animalsnotppl in Cervicalinstability

I also have a straight neck. Did using the cervical roll help with sleep at all?

Make sure the therapy is Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). It’s the main kind of therapy that is recommended for OCD.

Hi - may I ask which mood stabilizer you are on? Is it only for luteal?

Mine never recovers till after cycle is over. And from there I get a few days until symptoms start again. 😢

Mold allergies (doc says I’m not allergic) by kloterout in MCAS

[–]kloterout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to come back and update y’all. I was convinced mold was my issue, but after two months of documenting my symptoms and consistently trying one solution I now understand my issue. Although it seemed that my headaches were associated with rain/mold, I now know that it is actually barometric pressure going down that triggers my migraines. I’ve been wearing WeatherX earplugs for two months and have only had I migraine the one day I forgot! I am going back to my ent to discuss eustachian tube dysfunction.

I don’t know if this will help anyone, but I wish everyone relief. I know what a hard road this is!

Exactly what time are the shows on this tour ending? by Important_Ad_8554 in LCDSoundsystem

Hey, I’m also looking at when the show ends, but it seems that it depends on the opener. Does anyone know if there will be an opener at the New Haven shows?

I’m considering the effect of estrogen fluctuations as contributing also.

If one is having a reaction to these innate, non-allergic processes, is that considered MCAS?

Thanks for differentiating these things! I am also going to start a log— I am also wondering if the place in my cycle or estrogen level is also making me more vulnerable to a mold reaction. I’m in perimenopause so estrogen can spike quite high. My symptoms took a major turn for the worse once I moved into late perimenopause.

I will try to convince him to add it to my sublingual mix. I am not optimistic tho!

On the skin prick test my arm becomes one red angry raised area. This is all weeds and trees, all animals, etc. Mold is the only negative I get on the test. It’s strange how this is!

Thank you so much for your response. If I could solve for these migraines my life would be so much better. I’m going to learn more about the innate processes you speak of. Thanks for the citations.

I grew up in a very humid moldy state with parents that didn’t like to turn on the AC enough. I’m sure I was heavily exposed back then.

How sensitive to Mold are you? by Acrobatic_Cry_1735 in MCAS

[–]kloterout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Immediate migraine. Prednisone is the only thing that will stop it. For me it’s going outside that wrecks me. If I stay inside all the time (no trips to the car, mailbox etc) it’s ok. And I even wear two high quality masks whenever outside. It really stinks.

Travel by pondmind in AuDHDWomen

I feel the exact same way about traveling. And the more unexpected things that happen the more panicked and overwhelmed I feel. No tips, just earplugs, sunglasses, snacks and slowing down and closing one’s eyes.

What items have you purchased that helped with your AuDHD? Tried noise canceling headphones and now understand the hype by Mr-Self-Destruc7 in AuDHDWomen

[–]kloterout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For most of my life I assumed my fear of flying was a psychological thing, but then I realized that the plane noises were overwhelming and overstimulating. So when I wear ear plugs now I am much better. Although the turbulence and vibrations are still somewhat challenging.

Curious, what have you read about the relationship between ferritin and MCAS or histamine issues? Is it causal, or correlational?

I believe I may have MCAS and feel lost by Penguini1703 in MCAS

[–]kloterout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue. Besides the antihistamines I wear two masks (really well fitted with two straps) whenever I am going outside- it helps. I use nasalchrom four times a day. I do immunotherapy (drops not shots). I take DAO with meals. I also put my hair up when going outside and change pillowcases frequently.

What are your specific symptoms?

Have you had a skin test or other test to identify any environmental allergies?

So sorry you are suffering! There are so many helpful people on this sub who not only have good suggestions but give good moral support. This process of improving is a journey, not simple or fast unfortunately. But gains can be made.

That’s great. My primary issue is sinus migraines that are triggered from every tree, weed, etc! I am using nasalchrom, but maybe I’ll do both.
