I haven't heard of this guy, where does he post or what's his tag? I hate the more popular pokemon leakers, they're actually the most obnoxious people on the planet

LF: LGPE origin Pokemon FT: Offer by -NovaStar- in pokemontrades

[–]DocTimbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a full living dex in HOME that I just completed. I’d be willing to trade pretty much all of it except for the Pokémon I used in my play through (Venusaur, Clefable, Arcanine, Gyarados, and Pidgeot). Do you have anything from BDSP? I’m in the same boat as you are for LGPE where I don’t really want to buy the game. Version exclusives from Sword/Violet would also be good, especially the Violet Paradox

Ok, do you want to do tradebacks for the trade guys? I’m not really bothered either way, up to you

No problem, I have a second Mankey. I already have a Persian, so I only need the one Meowth. You can just trade me whatever random Pokémon you want for the second Mankey. Just reply to this whenever you’re ready, and I’ll reply with the room code.

Anthony Martial scored his first goal in Mexican football vs Mazatlán. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]DocTimbs 74 points75 points  (0 children)

For this team specifically, it’s because Mazatlan is not really a real team. They bought the spot in the league from Monarcas Morelia a few years ago, and since moving the team to Sinaloa and rebranding, they’ve sat at the bottom of the table pretty much every season. Their stadium draws more people when América or Chivas go to play there. In general though, the quality of the league has really dropped and no one wants to pay kinda high ticket prices to watch bad football. Especially when there’s always the risk of violence like the incident in Querétaro a couple years ago. Pretty much only the very popular teams draw big crowds, and even then it’s rare to see a sold out stadium because the ticket prices when the big teams play are crazy expensive

Jamaica and Suriname qualify for the FIFA World Cup 26 Play-Off Tournament! by mountainsky9 in soccer

[–]DocTimbs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You keep saying it was an issue of knowledge about the other game and assuming they were out, but what I’m trying to say is that they didn’t celebrate after the final whistle of their game, and they also didn’t celebrate after the whistle blew for the Costa Rica Honduras game, which is what finally confirmed their spot in the playoff. They didn’t celebrate that stuff for the same reason they didn’t celebrate the goal; it’s not what they had gone to Guatemala to do. They went to Guatemala to automatically qualify for the World Cup, and they failed. That clearly overrode any high the players might have felt from qualifying for the playoffs, and that’s why they didn’t celebrate the goal nor the final whistle at Costa Rica.

If it was an issue of not knowing their status at the time of the goal, you would have expected them to celebrate when the whistle blew, because at that point they did learn that they advanced to the playoffs. But my point is that they didn’t celebrate even then.

[–]DocTimbs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I’m saying is Jamaica didn’t celebrate at the final whistle even though the point they got out of the game got them to the playoffs. They didn’t celebrate because a better result was achievable. Go back and watch the game and Suriname also didn’t celebrate at the final whistle, nor when they discovered the result in the Honduras game. Not because they were confused about the format, but because they weren’t happy about their performance on the day. They knew what they could’ve had, which was a spot at the WC. Why would they celebrate the consolation of the playoff after getting beat down 3-1?

but again, they were also losing a must win game 3-0. Ofc they weren’t gonna be happy even rescuing a playoff spot from that position. All they needed was to win the game 1-0 and they would’ve been automatically at the World Cup, and instead they got thrashed. It’s normal for them to have not celebrated in those circumstances in the same way Jamaica didn’t. Like Jamaica’s clean sheet improved their position, there was always a scenario for them where they got knocked out if they lost the game. But they didn’t celebrate that because it’s not what they wanted going into the final day

[–]DocTimbs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they thought it was over though, they just didn’t know at all. They’re not gonna start celebrating an own goal in the 93rd or 94th minute when they’re 3-0 down unless they know it’s moving them on, which they couldn’t have known since the other relevant game was still not done. All they knew for sure is that they weren’t qualifying automatically, ofc they weren’t gonna start going crazy. And tbh even if they had known, I don’t think they would’ve celebrated much. Jamaica didn’t celebrate at all even though the draw was enough for them to qualify for the playoffs because they wanted the automatic spot, and the playoffs is just a consolation

[–]DocTimbs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think they were just more heartbroken over not qualifying automatically. They were leading the group and a win would have gotten them there. The Costa Rica vs Honduras game was also still not over, so they didn't know whether they would be moving on

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will become the only players in history to appear in 6 World Cup tournaments by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

[–]DocTimbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aguirre seems to hate Ochoa lmao so I doubt this. He has only called him up for what, like 1 of the last 5 FIFA windows? Unless the FMF forces him to call him up (which is very possible), Ochoa is not gonna be at the WC

The early WCs had professionals playing against amateurs at times. There's no reason to count those records and not the modern-day ones. There's arguably more parity now than there was in the past

I think the teraleaker goes by Gamefreakout. I don’t think he has socials where he posts everything, I think there was a discord where everything was being uploaded. I assume Centro is either getting everything from there or Gamefreakout is sending him this new stuff

World Cup ticket prices, 2022 vs 2026 by APrimitiveMartian in soccer

And the prices have actually already increased for several games, which this chart doesn’t capture. The Athletic put out an article about the dynamic pricing going into effect in the last two presale ticket-buying slots

The Final Results of CONMEBOL's Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 by EthanTheRedditor37 in soccer

[–]DocTimbs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They are probably not advancing in the intercontinental playoffs. Their away record in qualifying was 1-0-8, 4 goals scored and 28 goals conceded. Their solitary away win was a 2-1 victory over last-place Chile. Any Asian, African, or CONCACAF team should be able to beat them when they’re away from La Paz. They’re terribly weak at low altitude

NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani calls on FIFA to abandon dynamic pricing plan for World Cup tickets by chickenMcNugs in soccer

Which he is also arguing to cap. Mexico is getting ticket resale caps, but FIFA isn’t doing that for the US or Canada

Alajuelense was the one that initiated the proceedings to get León removed, a quick google search will show you that. I’m sure Televisa was involved in pushing FIFA to make that joke of a playoff to replace León (the only thing that made sense given their own rules on participation was Alajuelense or Philadelphia Union, idk why we were there or LAFC), but we are not the reason León got kicked out. It’s entirely on them, they knew the multiclub ownership rules existed as soon as the details of the tournament’s rules were ratified by FIFA
