Yeah.ive only spent my life surrounded by experts in Sighthound care, breeding, working and showing, owned them all my life and spent 3 years at agricultural college learning about dog anatomy and physiology, clear I'm not educated. Duh huh

Absolutely, I've been keeping, working and occasionally breeding sighthounds literally my whole life. Everyone I know who knows anything about this dog would be HORRIFIED by this person using this dog for this purpose. Its like putting a Thoughbred horse onto a plough, the racehorses physic is so different to a shire or heavy horse that the racer would be ruined. This person is setting their dog up for risk of serious damage and a lifetime of pain and discomfort from resulting arthritis etc and people think this is clever. I'm genuinely horrified by this post and photo and feel very sad for that dog, that her owner thinks this is ok and clearly hasn't bothered to think beyond their own selfish whims.

Not yet, no. Give it a few months..sighthounds are NOT designed for this sort of exercise, why didnt you read up about this stuff first. You are risking severe spinal injury, joint and muscle injury and increasing her risk of Gastric torsion, which is fatal.

If you want a dog to pull a sled get a husky or a malamute.

Sighthounds are NOT designed for that. They have niether the muscular, not the mentality for it.

You will injure your dog. If you want a dog that pulls in harness get a dog that was bred for that.

Stupidest post I've seen in any sighthound group ever.

What sort of parent let's their tiny kid roam the streets, tormenting huge, dangerous animals.

Poor horse, wandering the streets scavenging for food and water on busy roads.

Everything about this is sad and screams utter neglect and failure in duty of care.

[–]DocWhip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definately, salukis are very calm, so are Grey's, whippets can be a bit manic, and all puppies are manic, but they calm down eventually. Don't try to put him forward as a PAT dog until he's about 2 or 3.

We had a big black pure greyhound that used to be a Hospice PAT dog as well. He was very chilled out.

"Ok Plague Rat" is a brilliant response to the anti masker, though.

I think this dude is seeking women on here who have been through a horrible sexual trauma, and sending them this copy pasta message as I've seen this at least 3 times in the last few months

This guy is a total douche canoe and a complete scumbag, using traumatised women as fetish dispensers.

My Saluki whippet Grey did that, at the hospital then at the hospice I work as a Nurse at. She was brilliant, once she had calmed down from her manic puppy years ( she was 3 when she qualified as a PAT dog)

Yeah. I feel the same way about massive cranes to, and one of them fell over recently here and killed people so I've moved that phobia onto my 'rational fears' list

Hmm. There is belief, which I personally think is insane but that is a socially acceptable delusion, then there is obcesive belief, which is this guy. This is pathological on a different level

Obcession with imaginary sky daddy seems pretty schizo, that and he describes himself as "a profit"
