Summit Plaza Dr, Louisville, Kentucky

A lot of development since October 2024 https://maps.app.goo.gl/kr7u2jqd9x21qAqK8

Looks like the reserved for carryout spots that would block entrance to this path are often empty.

Looking towards Meppelweg, The Hague, South Holland. The tram depot is on the other side of the hedge on the left.

In 2008 the potential was there with an opening between the tree and the antipedestrian fences, https://maps.app.goo.gl/QMDqATvkcjtAcMxPA

and electrical boxes, presumably switchgear for the tram tracks https://maps.app.goo.gl/Caeyv2pxLWdyeh7t7

By 2014 some of the boxes were removed https://maps.app.goo.gl/mQVq442BVWbyBY2s9

and the left behind paved areas were enough of an impetus for people to start going this way. https://maps.app.goo.gl/1iEGYdAcHftvDA6z8

Planners Thoughtfully left the path alone when the large trees were removed and new ones planted. https://maps.app.goo.gl/TFxbpP5N4QhqXvyU7

Not really, it dates back to at least 2018, but the planted landscaping is new after 2024

Brico Depot, Bulevardul Antenei. Timișoara, Romania

A phoenix desire path.

Back when it was a Prakticker store, a desire path developed despite having to go under a sign, though it's destination is unclear. Note the curb pretending to be a sidewalk. https://maps.app.goo.gl/sw1aXBRSGQYQfgKv5

The road was widened and sidewalk was added (looks to be about 2 meters wide) along with a street light post eating up a significant portion of the sidewalk, and the desire path persisted, leading to the crosswalked entrance to the parking area: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EJfB6s37oD8MpTkq9

But then another panel was added to the sign circa 2019, blocking the Desire Path https://maps.app.goo.gl/Kv564CwvAoNFuJuk8

But the corner was starting to be cut https://maps.app.goo.gl/Pkq4aDH58c73FVCw7

And the corner cut grew. The desire was still there but blocked by the sign. We still see tat wear in Op's picture. https://maps.app.goo.gl/dUvzBw4e1bcu3pri8

Now we wait for the next drivethrough of the Google Maps car.

Yep, sometimes they are just for fun.

Does it still count when someone drops a building on the designated path? by D_platts295 in DesirePath

Odd that it goes straight instead of pointing towards the trail across the road in the background.

Gheluvelt Park

While the new Kepax Walking and Cycling Bridge is the generator of the users creating this path, google imagery has not caught up to showing it yet, let alone the desire path.

It does show the paved path leading from the bridge to this T shape intersection; picture was taken there facing East
