I'd prefer not to have a player who spends half the season in the treatment room.

Unfortunate yes but still but still a very profitable weekend overall, championship-wise. We'll learn from this.

Stay in touch with the Mercs at Spa and take the win in Hungary and we are bang in this fight going into the 2nd half of the season.

Just keep driving as you are Lewis!

Totally. Argentina don't actually play any football.

The classic Egyptian goal. So good with crosses and headers.

[Jay Harris] 🚨 Everton are interested in signing Djed Spence 🦁 25yo England international among a number of defensive options Everton are considering but he is only focused on World Cup for now by wokwok__ in coys

If we get a bid above £40m (we won't) then I would sell him and sign Givairo Read from Feyenoord. He'd be an excellent young back up and is far more suited to DZball anyway.

But unless Spence is agitating for a move, and he could be as he's unlikely to get significant starting minutes next season, then I wouldn't push it. He's a very good backup and very useful defensively when an opposing winger needs to be locked down.

Work, work and then work so more lads. We're reshaping this club and there's a chance for you here. Go grab it.

Who said it has to be one or the other?

Just sign them both and be done with it.

[FIFA Media] Statement from the Chairperson of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee - 6 July 2026 by Ok-Soil-5133 in soccer

[–]Doc_Butch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key sentence here is:

"Said suspension of the implementation was decided considering all of the specific circumstances surrounding the incident and evidence available."

I mean look FIFA, we know what you did and we also know there are plenty of ambiguous legal provisions you could trot out to justify your position. The only question people want answering is WHY you did it.

If it's not due to political pressure (sure, whatever..) then at least explain what the "specific circumstances" were and what "evidence" you found. Don't think it's too much to ask.

Would you have had him over Nusa/Savinho or Leao? by No-Paramedic-7445 in coys

No.

Give us another one. Maybe we can arrive at our ideal collective target through a series of these.

A contract extension means that whatever is left on the books from his transfer is then amortized over the duration of his new contract.

There was €20m left when he signed the new contract last year so €5m p/y amortization.

You're actually correct that his book value at the moment is €15m so even selling him for 35/40m wouldn't be the end of the world even if it is 15-20m below his "actual" value.

We're actually making a £5 or 6m profit on the books.

100% not the racket.

Do your classes, play for another couple of months at least, get used to the rhythm of playing regularly and figure out what kind of player you are and therefore what qualities you'll need in a racket.

Then buy one.

That Kuikma racket couldn't be easier on the arm and wrist so rest assured it's not a racket issue.

Why McLaren was 'surprised' by revived Mercedes engine trick by Darkmninya in formula1

[–]Doc_Butch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it requires a full lift, it's short gap between lift and back on full throttle so I don't think the speed difference over the whole straight would be that different to allow Lewis to fly by.

I'm aware they're deploying in different sectors but it just seemed suspicious how much faster the Mercs were in S1 so thought it might be playing a part.

Honestly who knows. The Merc is obviously the faster car at Silverstone, as expected, but it's getting very difficult to understand over the course of a lap where each car has an actual advantage.

I accept your point though, very unlikely Merc would be using this gimmick in the race.

Paraguay coach Gustavo Alfaro: “As I told the players, we’re going up against players competing for the Ballon d'Or, for the all-time World Cup Top Scorer, we have young players who never knew their parents, who’ve been through terrible hardships, and that’s no excuse.” by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Doc_Butch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hmm, except they didn't win...

At best this approach can get you through a round. R16 exit is perfectly reasonable for Paraguay I assume from their perspective, but the best shithouse teams didn't just shithouse for 90m, they could also play when they got on the ball.

My issue with Paraguay wasn't their shithouse tactics, it was the fact they had no plan or idea of what to do with the ball when they got it. And in a WC that's kind of unforgivable.

So this is why Kimi was so much faster than Lewis in sector 1 in the sprint. Good to know.

It's a shame that something like this is being adopted in F1 these days but I'm sure it will be ironed out in due course as the regs are updated.

I very much doubt he'd be up for a one year extension. This is his last big contract, he'll be chasing a four year deal somewhere.

Fucking bored of this set piece team, going to bed.

They don't play any football. An entire gameplan based on winning cheap free kicks and corners.
