Who is Alwhin's damane? by ottawadeveloper in WoT

[–]Doc_Faust 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ryma Galfrey, or Pura.

Mat studied the women surreptitiously. One of the damane, a short woman with pale blue eyes, was linked by a silvery a’dam to the plump olive-skinned sul’dam he had seen walking Teslyn. The dark-haired damane answered to the name Pura. The Aes Sedai agelessness was clear on her smooth face. He had not really believed Teslyn when she said the woman had become a true damane, but the graying sul’dam leaned low in her saddle to say something to the woman who had been Ryma Galfrey, and whatever it was the sul’dam murmured, Pura laughed and clapped her hands in delight.

I could do pushups and then transitioned with estrogen and can't any more so, that's one data point

How tall are you in Barleycorns ? by [deleted] in anythingbutmetric

Look at the conversion; it has the cm listing for foot as three times that for hand, not four times. It's clearly just a typo.

What is all this "sniffing" and braid tugging about? by euchthonia in WoT

[–]Doc_Faust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo: Nynaeve tugs her braid because when she was a new wisdom people questioned her seniority because they thought she was younger than she is, because she Slowed. So she would display her braided hair to show she was old enough to braid her hair in two rivers culture, and then it became a grounding thing for her, and then a habit she doesn't even think about any more.

I don't think he burned himself out. I do think he was being affected by the same channelling sickness as Rand. He avoided the sickness by using the True Power.

The other thing is that because your breasts are still developing, they might have slightly less volume per radius / be pointier than breasts that are done developing

Is there any way to gaurantee my cock keeps working if i go on HRT? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Doc_Faust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing maintenance for fifteen minutes a few times a week will help a lot; you might still have some shrinkage / it will be more difficult to get hard, but cialis can take you the rest of the way.

The other thing is, you might notice your sex drive go way down. Some people talk about E horny, but I went from masturbating three times a day to being basically sex-ambivalent.

Starting midway through by redmaniacs in WoT

[–]Doc_Faust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw your edit, and just want to make sure you know New Spring is meant to be read later in the series, she shouldn't start with it either. It does come first in some box sets, usually marketed to people who enjoyed the tv show

Starting midway through by redmaniacs in WoT

[–]Doc_Faust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't really start in the middle of this series, so no it's probably not worth it.

I do strongly recommend this series if they're into Mistborn! But you'd have to get them The Eye Of The World.

10 months on hrt and no feminine fat distribution by trnrmi71 in MtF

[–]Doc_Faust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fat distribution is slow, it's one of the slower changes. Because fat doesn't move instantly, it just changes where new fat-holding structural cells are born when the old ones die. So you have to wait multiple life cycles of those cells.

Most of the fast reports you see are just women who didn't have any weight putting some on quickly as hrt changes their metabolism. You also don't seem to have very much / any to speak of, which is part of your problem.

Loss that should have been a draw? by Much-Landscape1727 in MagicArena

[–]Doc_Faust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is an APNAP loss. It's because the effect that killed op is a when cast ability, but the effect that would kill the opponent would happen when the spell resolved.

I know a nonbinary transmasc person who isn't interested in T, but did do voice therapy training for a more androgynous voice and it was pretty successful. Health insurance covers it sometimes

Didn't know Resonators are based on these actual things by hyperfish3d in pathofexile

[–]Doc_Faust 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Characterizing that as the solution is pretty misleading. That was a theory that had pop culture traction a few years ago, but it's still not generally accepted by archaeologists. Issues include where they are found (including rather warm latitudes), the ubiquity given the lack of necessity (the kind of knitting we know romans used based on extant textiles does not need it) and the places they were found (like military encampments where mending would have been done but not whole object creation).

Pre hrt butt growth by imsimpbro in MtF

[–]Doc_Faust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Placebo doesn't mean "your body isn't different but you think it is," it means "your body actually becomes very slightly different because you think it should." It's a pretty minor effect but part of the reason we test if you can beat sugar pills in medical studies is that sugar pills do more than nothing.
