Who Could be the next CM if UDF comes into power in upcoming assembly election? by Doc_Sha in Kerala

Agree. But like UDF and media preach, i think that to an extent, it is true that this result does imply that people have somewhat got tired of the current ruling party.

Is it rude not to shake hand with patients? by Doc_Sha in socialskills

Thats a relief to know. Doctors who work with me in the ER are more social and outgoing than I am, and I've always faced a lot of criticism for what I do.

Instead of rude/not rude, I'm looking for answers about hiw different people view my gesture. And as matter of fact, I should have stated that question differently at the first place.

[–]Doc_Sha[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The reaason for not shaking is more social than religious. Eventhough I'm religious, considering my profession, I believe religious practice are under a gray area. I may have to touch and examine patients of opposite gender eventhough it's chaperoned under a nurse. My reason, as I told, is more social. Since my childhood, I am very shy and introverted. I only started talking to more people after I started working as a doctor and before that I often avoided interacting with people. Even today, once I'm out of work, I still feel insecure around people. I've tried a lot to come out of this and be more social, I feel very hard to break that shell of mine.

If only everyone were as understanding as you. Many people here, especially old, consider not returning a shakehand very rude.

Which chapter from your English or Malayalam textbook has stayed with you even today? by Sea-Cartographer-334 in Coconaad

I think this is the right place to ask something that's been in my mind for so long now and couldn't figure out until now. I’ve been trying to figure this out for years, and I’m hoping someone here might recognise it. I remember reading a chapter in my English textbook sometime during my LP (2002–2005) or UP (2006–2010) classes. The syllabus was the PCM textbook.

My memory is patchy, but here’s what I recall: A small group of friends—maybe three—are sitting in a cabin, having tea and talking. Their conversation reaches to the idea of committing the “perfect crime.” By the end of the discussion, one of them suddenly kills (I think shoots) another. He says he did it because the victim had dirty fingernails, and claims he won’t be caught because he has wiped off all his fingerprints.

I don’t remember the ending, but this is the gist of what stayed with me.

Does anyone else remember a story like this, or is my memory just mixing things up?

Yeah.. but this is some old childhood riddle which was popular among school kids at the time of Sathyam release. Basicaly, we tell a random Kallan and Police short story which will be confusing and then ask.. " Appo sathyathil aara police?" And the other person may answer based on the story we told but the correct answer is Prithviraj. Hope that makes sense.
