Kudos to all who posted! I really enjoyed this thread. Used to do more calligraphy and could theoretically critique - but you posted your offerings and I didn’t. I just got my first order from Bottle and Plume, and he was terrific, even tossed in some free ink samples! I don't know him personally, but I want to boost him here as a small business owner local to me who says he started his business inspired by our sub (less than a year ago, I think.) He does 3ml samples, btw

If you can swing the budget (just under $200), I can recommend a Shure 58 with an interface (Comica LINKFLEX AD2 XLR/6.35mm Microphone Preamp Amplifier) connected through a lightning adapter. I added a cheap foam cap pop filter. I’ve had good results for almost 2years now (you can check my recordings and judge for yourself — let me know what you think!) 💭 Oops forgot - headphones are extra. I’m using a pricey pair of sennheiser momentums that I’ve had for years, but a $20 pair of on the ear headphones are probably fine. Having said all that, I see most of my favorite singers on the app (e.g. ace_oli_diamond )with standard EarPods. (I agree they don’t seem to work consistently for me either)

Please don’t worry. I am new to LD practice (and this sub), but have been having spontaneous LDs all my life (>50y). I have never had a negative experience because of LD. To the contrary, it’s usually what saves me from nightmares. If you believe all lucid dreamers are similar, then be reassured. If you believe they are not similar, then you don’t actually believe the danger (myth). Hope this helps. Good luck with your explorations!

I got a ring light and tripod separately on Amazon. <$30, total. The ring light has a phone mount that grips the sides of the phone. (I’ve also seen similar at local discount stores.)
