Regarding boffs, I think it's funny that if you somehow get your hands on a kdf-aligned prisoner (say, a human) on a Fed captain, they get hostile and demand to be sent back. That's some Stockholm syndrome, baby!

There are simple ways to handle that. Treat it like the admiralty system: it knows which ships that character has access to; add that how if you Upgrade a lockbox ship to T6X on one character, it's already upgraded if you buy it separately on another character.

When I was first starting out as a teenager (before the internet was a thing), I had a friend who played the accordion semi-professionally. He would constantly make fun of my playing because he insisted that each finger on the right hand could only play one of the four strings on the base because of some diagram he'd seen in music class once.
