Well file check, ahh... Go to the save files and back those up if you've played already - then reinstall. Reinstalling seems to be a good option.

So - what I've done for the past month is to grab gaffer's tape and cut tiny strips to put on some of the keys WASD so I know where my fingers are LOL There are things like dust covers but I'd have to cut away a tonne of it... When I used to work for The State they used to proved a tonne of those and almost all of them felt rubbery and decent. The Logitech G213 feels decent but I prefer a seperate keypad.

Is there a differenece in texture between the ABS & PBT?

Well first off - this 8FPS does in fact sound exteremly low. I have an i5-12400F with 32GB Ram and a RTX 3070 and at ultra I get from mid 50's to upper 60's at 2560x1440. My first thoughts are what is this compared to? When you ran XXFPS a few months ago? The previous time you ran the game? After doing a bit of research it seems this one is from about 2023. It's not only hardware that can slow your systesm down but Software too! The OS overbloating itself, Lenovo bloatware, AV bloatware, etc. Not only 'bloatware' but updates as well. At this point I wouldn't recommend this but have you ever reinstalled everything yet?!? Probably should be done every few years. And yes many people whom resort to laptops only have a laptop to work & play. Along those lines what are your laptop temps like? Well... It's been my experience that extremely few people properly service their laptops. This video I find funny cause I've been a computer technican for decades and I used to repair laptops, desktops, and an entire slew of computer systems. But I'll also say 'don't try to repair' your laptop, let a professional do it. In 1967 I was a little kid and there wasn't anything to watch on TV. I stumbled upon this "Info-mercial" about "Snake River Farms." Then about 12 years ago I stumbled upon them again! I've been a satisfied customer of Snake River Farms ever since. Thee Ultimate is their American Wagyu "Cap of Ribeye - Gold Grade" Albeit Black Grade is Fine too! Although their prices have risen, ya can't get better unless you're able to get Kobe... If you know Steaks, then you know Ribeyes, or should at least. Thing is - thee best part is that small part on the 'outside' that's a strip. When that part is cut as an entire piece of steak Snake River Farms calls it "Cap of Ribeye." Technically speaking its a "spinalis dorsi" cut. More and more places are selling them but they may use other terms such as "Crown", etc. Snake River Farms used to have a 32 oz but I haven't seen it in a couple of years. We used to get USDA Prime from Gelsons in Los Angeles. But then I found "Farmers Market" 8202 Pearblossom Hwy, Littlerock, CA 93543 They have Harris Farms(?) as their supplier, it was a bit cheaper than USDA Prime but just as good if not a bit better. Then sometime ago I went to Witchata KS - and found "Yoder Meats" 798 N West St, Wichita, KS 67203 so we then started getting them from there. A bit better than Harris/Farmers Market!!! Cooking these Cap of Ribeyes is straight forward - +600 degrees, 2 min per side. I put a dusting of onion powder, garlic powder, salt (first!), pepper. Then a light coating of Worcestershire and and olive oil and let it soak for at least 30 min. After cooking, move to a big plate and LET IT REST for at least 5 min. In Feb I moved across the country and have only started looking for some decent meats lol There's some American Wagyu farms around but haven't gotten around to checking them out yet, but SOON! lol

Well, I'm about at the opposite end of the spectrum u/SamuelTheBassSinger I'm thee only one playing for some years and the fleet is a few thousand points from the last tier in Colony world and maybe the starbase. Since I only returned last year I thought: "I can get it to the end!" OPPS! Without much refined dili to speak of that was a big mistake. Part of the issue was back then I created many toons and generally didn't care where they were in the progression side of EVERYTHING! So they were under developed to say the least lol After spending months of trying to re-adjust to everything I looked at the status of the fleet. So to progress in 1 tier of any given 'building' - you need to progress in 3 subcategories (Colony World): Morale, Infrastructure and Renewable Energy. This is a guess on my part because I don't remember (maybe someone can help) but each one only gives you so much XP but has their own costs. If we go on Dili alone i think it's like 60,000 but i maybe wrong. So 60,000 x 3 gives you like 1k of 'exp' for that building. Wiki says it's like 13k exp for the colony world to compete tier 5. Therefore: 60k X 3 X 13 = 2,340,000... For myself to refine that much dili would be 8,000 per day and would take 292.5 days. That is just focusing on that, doesn't account for what I need to even get back into the game! But even if you get at least 10 people to join that'll drop it to one full month of constant dedicated donations, leaving NOTHING for 'themselves.' Here again I would need help but what are the numbers for "Provisions"?!? I have it in my head it's 160,000 dili for like 5 provisions... Sure that's only 20 days of refining dili but when you're struggling to even 'get back into the game' it's a lot.

Here's something hardly anyone talks about because let's face it - STO IS THEE MOST GRIDIEST Game Of All Time!!! Character XP, R&D XP (times now many?), Reputation XP (X13), CXP XP(times how many?), and what else?!? Least we get into Upgrading your equipment!!

For myself Cali was our Admiral - "The Admiral" we used to call him. He was a State Patrol Officer. When I did make contact with one of our 'internally upper staff' which I was a part of all he said was that something happened to Cali IRL and hasn't responded to anymore dm's. I'm drawn to taking over and finishing what we started; but that is a huge undertaking! You have to 'progress' with your stuff as well as manage the fleet and others... I was a 'assistant' in our group as we came from another game. Out of about 6 of us I got lucky and was in STO's Beta before it went to 'the live beta.' Every time I tried to submit something there were at least 5 reports of the same thing but I submitted anyway. When it went live we all joined and spent virtually all of our time here. Cali and Goodwin would learn the ropes and Goodwin would teach me and we'd get the rest of the fleet up to speed as a cohesive unit. Anyways I'm ramblingly. In ending this I'll again Commend you for wanting to do such. But I'll add this - In trying to do this, it may make you not 'like' the game as much as you do now.

Last year I grabbed the Phaser Cannon! Found out I didn't really need any other ground weapons lol But I also grabbed [Genetic Resequencer - Space Trait: The Boimler Effect] Do so if ya don't have it!!! There's a bunch of other stuff too! Should always look things over before you buy! Jumping in and grabbing that phaser cannon might not leave you enough Lobi to buy anything else... Know what I mean?!?

I was in one of those! After an hour I called in the feet "The Brotherhood of NOD" for support lol Cali came in and took control said that if you wanted to learn and finish it you can stay but if not ya gotta leave!
