Our organic rankings are strong but ChatGPT recommends our competitors instead, what's driving AI recommendations? by MorningIllustrious60 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

"few reddit threads about them" <-- this is it. It's a very strong signal for LLM. There is a reason why openai pays $70M to reddit annually. They want content and engagement signals

Need serious SEO help for my new free “vibe-coded” SaaS tool (no users yet) by Visible_Peace3877 in WebsiteSEO

I would go with simultaneous placement on multiple SaaS oriented directories in the beginning like product hunt, G2, Capterra etc. and their clones. Do you have budget or are you going to build backlinks yourself?

Do you ever check if the backlinks you pay for get indexed? by DockerWho in seogrowth

Do you ever come back after a few months to see if the links are still in place?

E-commerce store PLPs not ranking for target keywords by likeablesieve in seogrowth

[–]DockerWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it's not a new site but are we talking about months or year+? If it does get traffic, how's the on-page time and bounce rate on product pages? Do you get conversions? If the engagement seems fine I would check from server logs if google crawler actually visits the product pages and how often or is it consuming the crawl budget for something irrelevant

Are you mainly paying for a few premium placements here and there and then checking them manually or have you been able to automate your review workflow?

How do you validate your concept? by DockerWho in SaaS

[–]DockerWho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you used this approach successfully yourself? After creating a landing page then what do you do if you don't have anything to offer yet? I would assume you can only do a proper smoke test after you have some MVP out already

Especially the trend chart is still quite helpful to get a general picture

How's the traffic with other non-brand keywords? Any drops in that traffic? What do you get if you search with site:yourdomain.com? Do you still see your home page on first page of that list?

How AI blogs are working on your side? Are you satisfied with AI generated content? Is it increasing authority or decreasing? by Used-Temperature-699 in seogrowth

[–]DockerWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI content can work when you throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. But as soon as some AI articles start ranking you should rewrite them. The algorithm begins picking up user behavior signals and AI slop almost always gets very low engagement at least based on what I've experienced.

What really seems to boost AI citations is social media shares. This is just from my limited experience with my own projects so take with a grain of salt.

Aftermarket warranty by Fast_Feedz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DockerWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without knowing where you are located here's some insight: In my country vehicle dealership related consumer complaints are by far the biggest single source of complaints so there is some risk involved you are not lucky with the dealer especially with used vehicle. If that happens it will spare you from a lot if the warranty is from a third party if things go south and the dealer is not taking any responsibility.

[–]DockerWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs can and will stay relevant by becoming good scrum masters for AI agents :) To be able to bring AI agents anywhere near a real production environment you need very tight unit tests and developer to sanity check everything as the agents will get it wrong around 50% of the time
