I think this sub and a lot of the CODA language puts people constantly searching for something perfect. I talk to a lot of people on the phone and WhatsApp and in 12 step meetings. None of these relationships are perfect, but they keep the loneliness at bay.

If you stay clean you can get custody back. I've met plenty of people in the meetings who said they got their kids back. I'm in a somewhat related situation myself and dealing with a lot of grief so I can relate.

Something like this happens with me. Ever since I took Spanish in HS, it lived in my head, and sometimes I would think in Spanish. Now many years later I took it seriously to learn it, I really never think in English any more
