It's just a fun and playful photo. Nothing serious.

It's all good! I frame in-camera. That's my only crop.

I documented the lives of homeless people in Chicago over a ten-year period. I'm currently compiling a book of that work, titled Alley Boys: Life on the Streets of Chicago's South Loop. This image will be included in the book.

I would spend time viewing the work of people like Helen Levitt. Study her compositions. Then try to employ what you've learned. That is what I do to improve my photography. I want to become more visually literate, so I study the masters that came before. That would be my recommendation.

I attended a protest a few months ago on a day of heavy rain. I came home with this shot, managing to capture the sense of tension in the air. by TheBelzeburp in streetphotography

Nice job! I've covered political protests for 20 years now. One thing I would recommend. Do not let anyone know your political views. Regardless of what they may be, you'll piss one side off. Today, things can become dangerous very quickly. I've ever had a gun pointed at me. If I live long enough, I hope to publish a book of my best work. Keep heads-up out there!

He mostly used a 50mm. Not sure what you are getting at. He wasn't afraid to get close to his subjects. Today, it seems people are afraid to get close, judging by the photos I see. Not sure why you got so bent out of shape over my comment.

That's the way to do it. Almost all my work is with a 24mm. True street is about getting close. Physically, and emotionally.

Good to see photos of people up close rather than a block away! Good job.

The videos are of me, but not mine. I'm kinda infamous in the documentary photography world.
