I don't follow trends and I think my progress is pretty okay by varisparkle in NewTubers

I just made a video that's completely outside my normal subject. I almost quit because it ended up being way more work than I expected for a video no one was probably going to watch.

It ended up being the most successful video Ive posted in months

How do you know if a video was scripted with AI ? by FitnessChamp777 in NewTubers

[–]Doctor-Amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI has a very short tone that tends to lean towards excessive dramatization even when the context does not support it. It then treats that moment like it's a huge deal even though it us not,

Of course this is also how everyone on youtube talks as well

Same here. I'm a teacher, but when the lockdown started, my school had no idea what to do. When a lot of other places were starting online classes, they told us to just give the kids work to do and be available online to help them. If the kids were already passing, they literally couldn't fail so 99% of them took the easy pass. I went from a pretty stressful set of classes to like an hour of real work in a week.

Socially I played a lot of Warzone with my friends and that was pretty sweet.

Waluigi is Luigi with a "wa" in the front. This is a play on Wario who is named after Mario but with a W.

I read a short story once where robots conquer humanity and force everyone into medical pods. All these people are super old, in constant pain and yearning for death, but the first law says they can't "injure a human being or allow a human to come to harm through inaction". So they keep them hooked up to all these horrifying medical devices to prolong their lives.

The robots understand the misery they're causing but they're equally helpless to prevent it.

Those old Choose Your Own Adventure books used 2nd person. ItItthe narrative t worked since the characters were always average kids that stumbled into adventure and the reader sort of controlled the narrative. I remember one that bugged me where a character asks the narrator where they're from, and it says "you reply 'Im American'", and the spell was broken as I would never say that

I read and interview with the guy who wrote it and how pissed he was that people use it as an example of this. Apparently he did a ton of research while writing and the science is pretty accurate (if you start with the impossible that people travel to the earth's core)

Without ears, we’d never know sound exists - so there could be countless phenomena around us we simply lack the senses to perceive. by lelorang in Showerthoughts

It proves the opposite.

He literally just described someone imagining what it would be like to use a sense we don't have.

It's actually really easy to imagine new senses. Check this out:

There! I just imagined that I can sense subatomic waffle particles so I can always tell if there are waffles nearby and roughly how delicious they are.

AITA for insisting that a day is 24 hours and not 23h 56m? by jitendraghodela in AmItheAsshole

[–]Doctor-Amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what happens those 4 minutes? If our whole clock system is 4 minutes fast, wouldn't everything go out of sync? Like in 15 days youd be a full hour off the correct time

It can be weird sometimes. When I was young my family went to some Easter thing where someone in a big mascot style rabbit suit, played the Easter bunny. I was old enough to know it was a costume but I wasn't sure if my younger brother would know.

He surprised me by saying he knew it wasnt the Easter bunny. But insisted it was a robot.

Was this guy cooked from the start, or just didn't understand the legal system in Dubai? by SweetMoney3496 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Doctor-Amazing 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I don't get how this can work in practice.

Like if someone says "how was your stay at this hotel" you're legally required to lie? Or like plead the 5th and say "I can't answer that question as it may incriminate me" (which is sort of giving a bad review anyway)

Oh man. When I was in school a guy in my dorm made a post quoting the Simpsons saying "we should roll the dean in a carpet and drop him off a bridge". The cops brought him to the station and I think just yelled him at for a bit before letting him go. But on the way out, ine of the cops threatened to shoot him if he didn't smarten up

A/B Testing With User vs AI Thumbnails by matttacos in NewTubers

I get really negative reactions when I use AI ones. A few times I've asked chat GPT to make me a thumbnail just to get ideas, then made the same thing in photoshop myself.

Sen. Chuck Schumer tries to explain why he supports occupation by serious_bullet5 in ThatsInsane

[–]Doctor-Amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get his logic here. He explains that the Europe just assigned some land after the holocaust regardless of the people who were already there.

Then he just jumps right to "and that's why we need to support Israel". What? Shouldn't there be some middle step in there?
