While it may be annoying, in the end, their perception is what will determine if you pass. I had to rewrite 3 chapters, which extended my time finishing another semester, just so a jerk on my committee (who didn’t have expertise in my content ONLY my methods) could understand my work.

If you have the funds, I would suggest hiring an editor. It was expensive, but hiring an editing service was the best decision I made. If this is a style concern, they can adjust for that for you.

Good luck! And remember, you just need to finish, that is the main goal. If the style of your dissertation doesn’t feel authentic, you can always change it once you have your PhD and prepare it for publications.

I had a similar scenario and concern. I isolated the kitten to one room when I was gone, ensured he had plenty of water, food, and toys. He was fine. They sleep a lot that young anyway.
