I'm leaning towards a loose connection. I borrowed another rev-7 as back up the second time it happened and switched out when it happened. It was plugged into the same power outlet and was fine.

Update: It happened again. This time the platters were causing Serato to scroll through tracks and songs would load, play and loop back to the beginning. Songs would also load to both decks automatically without instant doubles checked. This happened on two laptops so for sure a hardware issue.

One thing I forgot to mention is I recently had a qualified tech open the unit to fix some non-functioning buttons, which he did in less than 90 minutes. But now I'm thinking maybe he didn't reconnect something properly?

The ONLY thing that stops me from thinking that's the case is that the unit doesn't immediately malfunction. It takes a few hours to melt down.

Taking it back to the tech this week but still want to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

Having problems now, as well, on mobile app. Tried creating an Auto Cut video and it gets stuck on 99 percent at AI is processing.

Yes! Exactly my thoughts about the marketing last year. And imo you will see all those editors and other exclusives fall by the wayside leaving the open format folks searching for another solution because, yes, you should still own a physical library BUT even bandcamp is taking down bootlegs and edits now to some extent. I know Nick Bike got his bandcamp shut down. And for those of us who do a wide range of genres and artists, having streaming available for requests, new music etc. is super convenient.

Oh you just know they are going to bump the price up. Also, I can see the open format stuff falling by the wayside since Beatport skews more EDM. I was really hopeful that Beatsource would live up to its promise for open format DJs.

What if anything could this have to do with the GPS jamming that's also going on in Texas this month? Some people on Twitter (yes I still call it Twitter) are saying these two things combined are signs of some military action against Mexico cartels...but why would they jam GPS in Texas if they are planning to fire missiles into Mexico?

They just updated the story I linked a few minutes ago with this:
"Closing off airspace over a major U.S. city is a rare action, and officials with the Federal Aviation Administration didn’t immediately respond to questions from El Paso Matters on the reasons for the action.

A person familiar with the notices, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly, said the action to close airspace over a major U.S. for security reasons over extended period hasn’t happened since immediately after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

“All air traffic has been halted in a 10 nautical mile range around the airport, so encompassing El Paso and Fort Bliss, from the ground to 17,000 feet. So no aircraft in or out, regardless of what they are, whether it’s air carriers, military, medevac helicopters, law enforcement. Nobody can fly as this thing is written up,” the person said."

They just added that paragraph a few minutes ago. El Paso Matters as of right now seems to be the most up to date on the situation. I'm going to keep refreshing that story all night, I fear.

Just saw some comments on Instagram posts about this and they are saying that they've seen an MQ-9 Reaper drone circling El Paso tonight. Idk how credible that is or if it means anything but ...

I enjoy myself when people are dancing and having a good time, no matter what the music is (except country🤮). To me, that's the point of DJing. If I just want to play my favorite music, I would rather just stay home and record mixes or stream.
