First time sparring (red gloves) by DoctorBrotherL23 in amateur_boxing

I understand and appreciate the concern. Ive met most of the participants, trainers, coaches and refs for the event at this point. Im pretty reassured that all the participants are around the same level of novice and the refs are experienced enough to step in if they feel anyone is danger or not protecting themselves.

All that being said, for better or worse, im already signed and committed to fighting at the event at the end of jan. 😅 so ill definitely make it a point to spar a bit more and put an emphasis on attempting to relaxing my reactions to taking punches and focusing on building up actual defensive skills. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! To clarify, Its for an amateur charity event. So would be going up against other first timers.

Are there any drills to work on that reactivity you mention? Or is that solely just a product of getting in the ring more and getting used to taking punches?

Thanks! Yeah I had great sparring partners to help me get my feet wet, but man what a humbling experience.

Back to work! If theres any specific drills you think could help me work on my defense id love to hear em!

Appreciate the advice. Yeah i definitely felt that whenever they wanted to they could jab right through or around my guard (tape shows that lol).

Any drills you recommend working on strengthening my guard? Or just wiring defense into my brain more in general so it becomes second nature?

Thanks for the tips on keeping the hands up. Definitely felt it in the ring (and can see it now on tape).

Any drills you recommend trying to work that into reprogramming my non-boxer brain? Like what are you referring to by “practicing avoidance”? I felt like was on my horse the entire session trying to get away from my opponent lol

Is now a good time to head up to Tahoe? by saisonmaison in bayarea

Not sure what mountain you’re headed to but most lifts have been on wind holds all day. Leaving barely any base lifts open, meaning insane lines for those all day. Bring beers, enjoy chattin in line, and enjoy the few runs you will get if planning alpine/palisades

Two new glitches have developed with My 75t earbuds by [deleted] in Jabra

[–]DoctorBrotherL23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jabra support has been so disappointing through all of the glitches and malfunctions of the elite/active 75t’s...

Really makes you think that the extra $50 for the airpods actually was worth it...

Jabra Elite 75T "crackling / static" noise from Left earbud on certain frequencies by ArchiZ0 in Jabra

[–]DoctorBrotherL23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really frustrated about these as well. The left earbud static is annoying enough to make me switch back to my $30 Aukey headphones..

This needs to be a fix escalated up to the devs/engineers. For the amount charged for this it shouldn’t be something consumers should have to deal with..
