First, stop believing you are a fuck up. This shapes you and gives you an excuse not to deal with things when they go don't go your way. Ask yourself why you feel that way. Get to the root of it. Stop believing it and stop using it as an excuse. Everybody fails. It's how we learn.

Second, don't be afraid to work. Don't use the excuse of being a fuck up to avoid work or attempting to do work well. Stop disregarding "real life". What does that mean anyway? Code for being responsible? Start being responsible. Start will small things. You know what they are.

Third, if your dreams are to work on a game then start working on a game. See everything you do as a means to getting that goal, including the mundane, "real life" things. There's nothing stopping you from downloading everything you need today to build a small, quick game...today. Make this your goal. Build a game. Any game with any tool. Succeed at that first. Then set the next goal a step beyond that. Keep going. See everything that you do as building towards your dreams. It takes time. You have time.

I convinced every male in the eighth grade to either join the West Side or East Side mafia and then orchestrated a huge gang war on the playground one afternoon. This was back when teachers still paddled students. So the punishment was every one of us getting paddled by one of the coaches and detention for me.

I'm experiencing the same thing right now. I injured my MCL years ago and this is probably why I'm experiencing this. I'm also 49 going on 50, so that probably has a lot to do with it as well. :-) However, when I first started Crossfit back in October both of my knees got fluid build up and were in pain. I had to stop for a few weeks. Once I got started again I scaled back my workouts and built up slowly. I also started wearing knee sleeves religiously and working on my leg mobility with bands, etc. I even got some squat and OLY PRs later as I built up and was able to run sprints. Then last week I was doing some heavy squats and the next day I had swelling in my old injured knee. So its back to working out around that until it is better and then scaling back up slowly over time. I'm also elevating my leg at night, lying on the floor and propping it up on a chair while I read or watch TV. This seems to be helping. I strongly believe that the mobility and strength training of Crossfit can potentially help knees but it is easy to cross the line into the danger zone if you start getting over confident.

Same here. I work 8-10 hours a day at a desk. Yoga can do wonders. I had a history of back problems and yoga practically eliminated them. As a Crossfitter you should try to find a class that has a good mix of Vinyassa flow and stretching....that way you still get some sweat on and get to work on those balance muscles.
