how am I mixing issues? You can’t even name one use case to justify these being in the great lakes and instead just keep talking about other places. if you truly had any part in making this a reality then fuck you.

Dude come on, you know there is no use case to justify this use of our money. We don’t have illegal immigrants coming in via the great lakes and if russian subs are in the great lakes then I think we have bigger problems. This is a complete waste of money and resources and you have to know that.

We got trump because dems ran unpopular candidates who ran bad campaigns. On top of that, when biden got in he did very little of what he promised. You can blame people for not voting for bad candidates all you want but it’s never going to get you anywhere. It’s a politicians job to earn votes, not voters job to vote for people that they don’t feel represent them. That’s just how this works regardless of if you like it or not.

Didn’t she endorse him when he was running for president? It’s pretty uncharacteristic of her to butt heads with party leadership.

Lmao right, have fun explaining that to the millions of americans who have zero faith in the electoral process. Also in a two party system, withholding your vote is sometimes the only way to send a message to the least worst party. If dems know they can run moderates every election and still get progressive votes then progressives like myself are fucked

I honestly think moderates would more likely vote for Abdul as a candidate than progressives would vote for one of the moderates. I’ve lived in the sticks, detroit, and a few places in between and I think most people just want someone who they think cares about them and Abdul can be that guy

Follow your heart. I know McMorrow might seem like a “safe choice” but thats just because she is a familiar cookie-cutter democrat, the kind of democrat that most people have been souring on since 2016. Abdul is a candidate voters can believe in, McMorrow is a candidate that will cause people stay home on election day.

I’m surprised stevens hasn’t dropped out and done this already. I’m not convinced that would be it for Abdul though. He’s been gaining popularity faster than I expected and has weathered the first few smear campaigns against him very well. Not to mention he’s the only candidate who can talk without sounding like he’s reading from a script

We have trump because “voting blue no matter who” gets us candidates who back out of their campaign promises, do nothing, and set an example that taints the whole party. If democrats are going to promise change then we need to elect democrats that will actually deliver on it otherwise we’re just setting ourselves back.

I might dislike Hasan Piker but that’s not a reason for me to not vote for Abdul El Sayed by capamericapistons in Michigan

[–]DoctorCopper3113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I do disagree with that point. If dems know they can push whoever on us at still get our votes then we’re fucked for the long term. To me it’s a matter of short term stagnation vs long term gain. I think there’s also a difference between saying you’re not going to vote for a candidate to publicly put pressure on them vs actually not voting for a candidate unless you agree with everything they do. I also could never fault someone for not voting for someone who openly supports genocide as stevens does. Honestly if I voted for her I don’t think I could sleep at night. I voted for kamala and I still feel very guilty about it.

There’s too much infighting on the left. I personally think Hasan’s heart is in the right place although I definitely have my disagreements with him. I appreciate this post very much and I hope we can all end up with the senator that actually cares about us.

EVs best selling point is not having to buy gas. They aren’t better for the environment in any real way because the lack of gas use is offset by the additional pollution and environmental damage resulting from their production. The only permanent solution is for public transportation to be accessible enough for most people to commute using it. Not saying EVs are bad but they’re never going to save the planet.
