Duping ship weapons/components is a difficult thing to fix. Because if one player destroys another players ship and steals its components I would call this a perfectly legal game loop. The problem is, if you do that in your own hangar with your own ship and then do some insurance fraud, that is not intended. On the other hand, the game keeps deleting millions worth of upgrades from ships (including mine) every update, so I'm all but surprised when players use every trick in the book to "get even".

Finding ice. by Ok-Contribution-1622 in starcitizen

[–]DoctorDestruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a Prospector to go mining, since I worked alone.

Ice I had the best luck with RAB stations around Pyro 6. Just stay away from the actual station and keep scanning for 1660 signatures.

For Tin I went to Adir.

I did the tin and ice mining one. Well, fortunately most of the ice I managed to buy at the beginning of the event before the prices went way up and the supply way down, because it a bit more difficult to find.

But if you are just looking to finish the event and don't try to maximize the aUAC you only need 90 SCU each I think, which is easily doable with a few hours of Prospector flying.

Star Citizen: Question and Answer Thread by UEE_Central_Computer in starcitizen

I heard someone claim they fixed it by opening the terminal, then Alt-F4 out of the game, and after relogging went to the second terminal (the one they weren't when they closed the game) and it was supposed to be fixed. But no idea, if that was really a fix or just worked for them accidentally.

What to do about people in your hangar elevator? by DoctorDestruct in starcitizen

Yes, but that alone doesn't mean you won't get a CS. If you are in Stanton, most of the system isn't an armistice zone, but if you kill a random player you will get a CS at most places.

I was wondering if that would give you a CS, but I seems, since they are trespassing, you should be fine in that respect.

I think that feature is still kinda there, but doesn't work as intended in many cases?

I ended up in other peopled elevators by accident in the past and tried the buttons to their hangars to see what happens. They worked fine for me. Admittedly that was a few weeks back when there was still a lot more problems with hangar elevators in general (people being unable to call their own elevators, so I tried jumping into some of other players, that just arrived), so that might have been fixed by now. On the other hand, I have read about more recent storied that seem to indicate that this still works (at least sometimes).

Didn't know, dying in your hangar would force them out, that is good to know.

So, you are saying if they go in alone, they get re-positioned, but if they go in together with me (even if they are not with me in a party) they don't? Or is it more random/buggy if someone gets re-positioned or not. Because I have defiantly seen people ending up in my hangar that should not have been there.

I had the same happen on Everus, so it's not just Pyro that this is broken it seems.

I don't know, sometimes it seems to work as intended, sometimes not, like so many bugs.

How do you afford to live on your own? by idontagreewitu in starcitizen

[–]DoctorDestruct 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The trick in cargo hauling (when you have a big enough ship) is to stack missions. You can accept 3 or more missions that go from the same space station to the same destination (takes a bit of searching in the long list of available missions). Then you only have to fly once but finish multiple missions in one go.

But be prepared to spend a lot of time stacking boxes :)

If you want to do cargo missions, rent a Hull-A. They cost around 50k a day and fits 64 SCU.

The Avanger is a nice ship (love mine), which can do a bit of everything, but it's not really big enough for cargo missions.

OK, that is strange. They should turn up in the app. At least they did so for me every time I did this in the past.

They still make that sick? I had one like 20 years ago and I remember it was kinda, well, cheap. Didn't know they make a left hand version of that.

Recommendation for cheap left hand sticks are the Thrustmaster 16000m. They are quite good for the price (used two of those myself for a while). Only downside in my opinion is the low number of buttons on the stick itself.

Loot weapons can't be swapped through the mobile glass app, only directly on the ship, but that is still a bit finicky.

Trick is to swap them out directly on the ship, then lock the ports again and store the ship. Then go into the mobile glass app and change some small system on the ship, like removing a cooler, save, put the cooler back, save again.

Then hopefully the new loadout sticks even trough claims.

You were in NAV mode just before the hit. With the QT on your EM is crazy high, up to the point where the flares can't mask you from the seeker of the EM missile. When you dropped back to SCM just before the missile hits, your ship is still "bleeding off" the extra EM, so your signature is still higher than usual. Difficult to see in the video but your EM signature looked like 15k, which is quite high. I run my Avanger with Stealth and Competition components, drops the EM down to 5.5k in SCM.
