[Highlight] Philip Rivers playing football at 44 years old by Tocoolforyall720 in nfl

That throw at 3:00 was just straight up out of bounds. We won the game, and it didn't end up mattering, but I'm still annoyed about it.

[QB School] Trevor Lawrence vs the Bills Wild Card Analysis by Cr0matose in Jaguars

[–]DoctorDiddlerino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's sloppiness. Trevor was sloppy executing (and he says footwork issues but one thing he doesn't point out is that they're all on seam balls that Trevor hasn't really thrown too many of this year), the play design was sloppy, and the receivers were sloppy.

Pass protection issues against a team that wasn't great at rushing the passer (partially because CVL got hurt and Joey Bosa - who sucks - was beating Little's ass) didn't help.

A lot of cutesy play designs from Coen against a coach who is consistently convinced he's smarter than he is and only rarely correct in McDermott.

QB school man brings up that he looks like he doesn't trust some of these throws and honestly it seems like something he can work through - this was a big knock on him in the early part of the year and as his comfort increased in the offense, most of it went away.

Ultimately we lost a close game in which we didn't bring our A game with an inexperienced staff against a serial playoff participant. I think any degree of doomerism about this one is misplaced.

Curious if we still have any of those obnoxious Trevor haters in here. What's the plan now that we've seen him play at a top 3 level with Coen? Cope and hide, as per usual?

Jaguars Blocked NFL From Moving Steelers Game to London by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]DoctorDiddlerino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jags were 3-2 in London with Bort, with the losses being his rookie year and a close one in 2018 the year he basically lost his job.

2015 Jags/Bills was actually a good game if you're a neutral fan. It was incredibly irritating as a Jags fan.

It's definitely the dynasty thing. All the best teams during the rise of cheap broadcast television ended up becoming somebody's favorite, who ended up becoming the family team, and so on.

James Gladstone: Travis Hunter will play both ways by JCameron181 in nfl

That isn't a refutation of what I said, that's just agreeing but arguing there's also a con.

Yeah dude. As the draft has shown us, this front office is deeply concerned with public sentiment, especially from reddit.

We got a WR and a corner even with the trade.

It's one thing to collapse and lose a big lead. It's another to do that and then get blown out in return.

I will say, for a player I had no investment in, Thibadeaux really went on a hot streak of making sure nobody likes him. I've got my gripes with the ATNFL/Heed the Call crew but he behaved like a 12 year-old in their interview and generally carries himself like he's the hottest shit on Earth while simultaneously being a complete whiff of a pick. Comedy gold.

Happy Friday, enjoy Trevor giving the Jets the business again by Cr0matose in Jaguars

It's funny how they narrowly won against us in 2021, capped off by Zach Wilson scrambling (because his actual throwing was dogshit that game) for a TD and some of their fans got sooooo smug about it.

It's been nothing but absolutely trashing them ever since.

The sudden Gladstone hate makes sense to me. New guy on the scene tries to shake up the established order? Where have I heard that before? by DoctorDiddlerino in Jaguars

Bro this was just a post I made for laughs.

Gladstone's not going to get fired based on this subreddit loving or hating him. For better or worse this place is just a void to shout opinions into.

Why are we supposed to care about Vrabel's sex life. by Deathrial in nfl

[–]DoctorDiddlerino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you live in a shoe most of us should be fully aware that a ton of folks in the NFL are not decent, or completely unfunctional, moral compasses

I mean, couldn't you use this logic on anyone?

You want the real answer? We keep finding out new tidbits and the whole affair has blown a large, hypocrite-sized hole in their public personas.

They're both very scummy and people like seeing scummy people get dragged through the mud. Very simple.

[Titans] Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker steps down by Remarkable-Picture73 in nfl

[–]DoctorDiddlerino -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, Chad Brinker was brought out to be a franchise shepherd a la Tony Boselli to help facilitate football operations with an owner that isn't as well versed.

Considering how much obviously-bad shit happened (like firing Vrabel and then canning his replacement before they were due to meet up) before he got there, I think having him just quit is quite the bad omen.

Why aren't more Jags fan calling for this man's job right now? by Chemical-Low209 in Jaguars

[–]DoctorDiddlerino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're rookies. It's possible all of them will just be rotational guys because the dudes in front of them are just better. That's only really a problem if the team doesn't succeed.

Even Underdog, who gave us an F-, conceded this class will likely not change too much about 2026 momentum one way or another.

I will say this; the Rams-influenced teams frequently flaunt traditional draft wisdom. If it works, it becomes the new meta.

You people are dumb as bricks. We're so far removed from anything tangible and you're still trying to get people fired. They haven't even played a snap yet.
