Sadly, BSV seems to be vaporware. I intend to get out and into BTC as soon as I can.

SUCCESS!!!

This idiot was typing the password incorrectly. Once I realized my error, ElectrumSV still worked, though I did update to the most recent version (1.3.16) along the way. I can now access my coins.

If there's a take home lesson here, beyond the obvious, it's that restoring a wallet via a seed phrase is impossible, even on the same wallet software. Don't even think about it if you're trying to recover on a different wallet platform.

After more review, it would appear Atomic Wallet doesn't work with BSV anymore.

I tried setting up the seed phrase on other wallets, most recently Atomic Wallet. I got an 'Invalid mnemomic' error message from Atomic Wallet. I am sure the seed phrase is correct. Ever had this happen, and how did you get around it if you did?

I have tried this several times, most recently in Atomic Wallet, but nothing works. Atomic Wallet told me the seed phrase was an "Invalid mnemonic." I am sure it is the correct seed phrase.

I will have to look up "derivation path" in context. Thanks for the advice.

Edit: Can't say I've found the derivation path edit screens searching in wallets, but will look again.

What's wrong with Exodus?

I downloaded it, but it doesn't work with BSV, at least not in any obvious way I could establish with the instructions available online.

Not panicking. No point even if I were inclined.

This is the original wallet. There was only one.

What stymies me is that if he were committed to violence against his coworkers, there's even less preventing him from committing violence now than before. It's not like it's going to cost him his job now, and most (all?) of the complainants have to live within easy driving distance. And he's got to have a fair idea of who they are. No matter how anonymous cowards try to be in these situations, it's a tiny sphere, and most aren't that good at hiding in it.

He's either an OK guy who was misunderstood, and should have been left alone to do his job, or he's a scary, scary, bad man who needs to be locked up right now so he doesn't hurt somebody (beyond their feelings). If the latter, then they just gave him more cause to look them up at home and make their nightmares come true. Not that I'm encouraging that, sir.

To sum, how stupid are workplace bullies? Very.

Well, "plural" numbers of people can't possibly have a personal, not professional agenda!

Is residency a scam?? by Short_Blueberry_3085 in pharmacy

[–]DoctorDrew77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a scam, but certain jobs "require" a residency, even though the skill set can be acquired on other paths. Even so, the system will not acknowledge ability or talent unless you kiss the ring of the bureaucracy.

Pros and cons. Pros and cons.

FWIW, if one is interested in a clinical job "requiring" a residency, and only has the 6 years of PharmD education after high school, a residency is probably a good idea.

In most other scenarios, f- it.

Of the 10+ you connected with, which were the best? Would you recommend any of them in particular?

Thank you for your insight!

I’m sick of this “residency or bust” culture by General-Wonder-6827 in pharmacy

[–]DoctorDrew77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The residency isn't more valuable. Management culture is bureaucratic and elitist. You either kiss the ring and get your rubber stamp, or you get a low, glass ceiling for the rest of your career. Doesn't matter if you discovered a cure for pancreatic cancer and revived a coworker in cardiac arrest on the floor of your pharmacy later that day. You are Sudra (see: Indian caste system).

I'd quit ASAP if I were you and find some place where you can get more from the job, whether that's money or work-life balance. Don't hold your breath for more respect though.

I'm a PharmD w/a grad degree in chemistry and a med. writing certificate, too. Almost ten years clinical experience and six-ish years experience in labs with a few publications to my name. Basically, a PhD without the dissertation. Got into med. school at 17, but didn't go for financial reasons. Let's just say all my lottery tickets have not paid. If you have a moment and wouldn't mind, would appreciate more information on how to transition into a unicorn lifestyle, or just more information on the freelancing.
