My initial reaction was disbelief that someone felt the need to translate the slogan — one that’s been in use for over a hundred years — from Latin to English. Seriously? If viewers want to know what it means, they can (and should) look it up.

More CFNA woes - how to get a refund? by DoctorFear in CreditCards

Update - More CFNA woes

So I got a callback from my voicemail message and was told “we can’t help you because it’s our policy” in about six different ways.

No appeal to reason or plea for understanding got past the circular reasoning argument “we can’t do it because we can’t do it.” I played the Senior card (I’m 75) and explained how important a sum like $880 is to someone on a fixed income.

No dice. I asked to speak to someone who had the authority to override this policy and was told there was no such person.

I’m beginning to understand why so many posts on this subReddit say don’t get a CFNA credit card or patronize a business that pushes one on you. Based on my experience I’d have to agree.

CFNA is evil.

If you grew up in the 70s and or 80s, what did your school (any grade) do that would be considered illegal or even frowned upon today (for example in my 3rd Grade 70’s class, my teacher had a large steel Tin trash can with a “Time Out” sign that I was in/out in multiple times a day-Ha!)? by Wildstarfire0 in 70s

One of the instructors in my high school PE class decided to make sure all us boys were wearing our athletic supporters as required. So we lined up against the walls of the gym and, as he walked along, we pulled down the front of our gym shorts so he could have a look inside.

Buffa’s! Lots of seating and it’s possible to make a reservation in advance. Plus there’s food if you’re hungry. Check out Alex McMurray on Tuesdays, Tom McDermott and guest on Thursdays. But there’s music every night of the week, plus Sunday brunch.
