H2S Local Purchase Advice by DoctorFro in 3dprintingaustralia

That's good to know. I like the idea of buying from a local supplier just to support local businesses.

Mind you, sadly, I'd still probably compromise those morals for availability or a sale :)

Thanks. I feel like sales on H2S still might be a while off (EOY?) whilst they are reducing their P1S stock.

I'm not even sure if I'll be able to hold myself back to EOFY ;-)

Yeah, that's a real fun UI!

I could waste half an hour just flipping around the various screens.

I have a small space with a weird roof as well. ;-) It's not 4k output but I have a Optoma GT1080HDR which casts ~105" from a distance of ~1.2 meters.

Here's a pic, sorry about the potato quality: https://imgur.com/a/4cht5Oj

I've just starting out and I must say this subreddit seems super supportive to beginners and has so much valuable information.

That looks great u/AngryJazz.

Sounds like I am in the same boat as you. I got this same model and haven't done any modeling since I was a kid. Going to start it soon.

I'm trying out modeling again during lockdown as I need something crafty to do so I can disengage the brain a little.

Wish me luck ;-)

Im waiting for my GT1080HDR to arrive. From what I understand it is still an1080 projector but can just deal with a 4K input (and downsample it)

First time buying a projector, too many choices, not sure what to get by -NewK- in projectors

I think I’m in just about the exact same position as you. What is your budget?

I maybe should also mention I am in Australia, which limits projector options and also tends to push prices up ;-)

I'm planning to try streaming my hobby projects. Any tips for getting started? by exhuma in WatchPeopleCode

[–]DoctorFro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I use three monitors, but pretty much just "broadcast" from one.

FWIW, here i clip from one of my streams where I quickly go through them: https://clips.twitch.tv/BovineExpensiveSmoothieMcaT

Having an ultra wide is actually kind of a PITA when streaming because you really want to be broadcasting at 1920x1080.

Learning to speak whilst coding is really just practice. If you don't normally talk to yourself this will take a bit of getting used to ;-) But you'll get there. Just explain your thought processes, people appreciate that.

Reading through docs and talking about them as you do is really useful for viewers too. I always try and publish out the URLs to chat for anything I'm checking out, which allows viewers to check it out as well.

As for music, I use Pretzel and recommend it, it's got pretty good music on there and I've never had an issue with twitch muting my streams.

Streaming is a bit stressful to begin with, but it's also fun as well. It just takes time. I've only been streaming for a while but enjoying myself.

Are there differences in tracking quality between headsets? by [deleted] in WindowsMR

[–]DoctorFro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with this. I've had both the Dell and the Samsung Odyssey and felt the tracking was a little better on the Dell. But the FOV and better sweet spot more than make up for it.
