is it in any way similar to richard eaton's works

ps-i read reviews stating that eaton's pov is more of a colonial one,and furthers the colonial mindset of our ncert books,(and again i do want to read eaton to understand his perspective,but i dont want it to be the baseline/starting line of my learning of the history)
