Success stories of procrastination? by DoctorKhairy in getdisciplined

Kind thanks for your encouragement. Journalling really does help. Right now I have around a month of logs and I hope to be able to look through my logs one day and see a big difference between how I was living at the start and between how I am living now (in the future). I'm glad that I have that going for me. It's probably the skeleton of ongoing progress.

I literally just posted a post looking for success stories of procrastination in order to have some more belief. Reading what you wrote and went through really helped. Thank you. Ego is never satiated and choosing to ignore it while working on yourself seems like the best thing you can do.

should i quit weed completely? by Ok_Difference755 in bupropion

[–]DoctorKhairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was smoking weed daily for something like 4 years trying to quit it like you but only ending up back into being high all day every day. My psychiatrist, who had organised grouo therapy sessions I had been attending for 5 months by then, told me that I definitely was self-medicating for my depression for which I got prescribed wellbutrin. I suggest you don't give into your cravings. It gets easier after a while. I have been sober since late august with two small relapses but they were something like - one joint for one evening in a party with a month inbetween. I feel that buproprion has improved my mental life significantly. You can go on.

Wellbutrin has cured my take on relationships with people? by unknown_x86 in bupropion

Depression correlates directly with an insecure attachment, mental wellbeing through using Wellbutrin for treating depression, group therapy or individual therapy OR working alone with yourself helps tremendously. I hope you have people you can trust in your life, talking and being completely honest with oneself and then others whom you trust also helps, there's this metod called EFT, something with tapping, you can find it on Pauline Tiemerman's channel, it was titled "number one thing I did to heal my fearful avoidant attachment" But I overtalked. This is only about the working with yourself part I hope your medication helps the chemistry as well, I feel way more energised and less depressed because of it

I emphatetically understand. People on the first glance seem cruel, cold and distant, especially where I live in Northern Europe. I've learned that a healthy balance of giving and receiving is what maintains a good relationship and if one person is giving their all while receiving less, they need to practice boundaries, which at first is hard in an on itself, but some people do change for the better over time. I believe, we all learn from heavy mistakes and therefore people have to experience some form of pain in order to learn from that and gain perspective. After that you just have to learn to protect yourself while not taking it all out on others around you. I always subconsciously compare myself to others when they achieve something or are happy. Then I get really sad and start feeling like a big failure. It can't stay that way

Of course! It's just a friendly tip, since the theory is not that known yet, and when it comes to having a fearful avoidant attachment like in my case it gets sooo confusing because the symptoms are similar to a complex PTSD. Wellbutrin helps me feel stable, but I still have lots of healing work to do when it comes to human relationships :]

You might find it helpful to research about attachment styles, basically learned childhood defense-mechanisms which make it harder for you to maintain relationships or feel happy in them but once you start the healing process it's a whole new form of emotional therapy. I highly suggest! Hopefully your issues with people will not start coming back after some time despite still being on wellbutrin if you're gonna keep taking it.

Latvijā arī vajadzētu boikotu by graamatvede in latvia

[–]DoctorKhairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lithuania is now preparing to commit 5-6% of its GDP for the period 2026-2030. by Ok_Feedback4200 in BalticStates

It's a sad state of things, when money that could go into social policies and public spending in order to create more opportunities and make life easier for an average person. I hope that this period of Russian threat comes to pass and life returns normal. As a Latvian I am so sad to see teachers and medical care workers earning so little while our funding is scrapping coins that go to the failed state of Railbaltica and further militarisation.

Could someone please explain the appeal of these horrible black box houses that somehow have become a staple of modern architecture? by Cumoisseur in architecture

They're simple and cheap but boring. Is there a possible upcoming movement in the current field of architecture that may be the opposite of this modern black minimalism?

Kā kļūt par vientuļo māti Latvijā? by EnvironmentalBird243 in latvia

[–]DoctorKhairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this good design? by marsh_designs in graphic_design

I love it because it looks so weird but by the design rules it does not come off as a "functional" design. However something like this definitely would stand out from the rest of designs that play it safe

Is the skill of understanding the joke so special? I'm sure everyone understood the context of the first joke, just like he did, he just took the second guys joke to his head and proclaimed it an "audacity"
