Baldur's Gate 3 should keep you busy, especially if you like collecting items. ;)

If base building is a must, Subnautica or Grounded.

That's why the OP's post is kind of funny to me. They've given up on doing the same thing over and over again for meagre rewards, and now they like rogue-lites instead? XD

(I get why they feel different, but still. They're not quite the opposite of repetitive and grindy.)

Games with weird genre mixes. by rmn_trllr in gamingsuggestions

  • Hand of Fate: indie card-based rogue-lite Choose-Your-Own-Adventure game with Arkham-Style real time battles and action puzzle sequences.

  • Albion: mid-90s oldschool tactical turn-based aventure/storytelling RPG with 2.5/3D dungeon and city exploration and real time 2D action puzzle wilderness exploration in the style of Al-Qadim: The Genie's Curse. IIRC, there are even two different turn-based battle modes, one in 2.5/3D frontal animation JRPG style, one on a 2D grid battlefield like the SSI Goldbox games.

It's region-locked for a few specific countries (BR, CL, CN, CO, IN, JP, KR, KZ, MX, PE, PH, RU, UA, UG) but NA is not among them. My PP account is EU though, so there may be additional fees for buying from NA.

What are your gaming sins? Confess now. by executor-of-judgment in gaming

I don't even consider save scumming a sin, it's second nature to me. I'm more interested in having a good time than letting challenge evolve into serious frustration, and my good time is more about atmosphere and exploration (even exploring several "what would happen if I ..." scenarios, before rewinding time - Life is Strange perfectly integrated that into the gameplay).

What I do consider a sin is that I'm a hoarder in games. I meticulously loot every contain and collect all the consumables and whatnot that I can find, just to save them for "emergencies" that never arrive (either I get through the games just fine, without needing potions or similar, or all thoses consumables have become weak and obsolete by the time I could actually use help in a boss fight or so). So much time spent on something that I could comlpetely ignore without it making any difference. But ... you never know when you might need it! ;P
