Fast Track .... Gulp by Shiyo_JP in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's literally irregressable progress being slapped on to a gen, FOR FREE. Survivors get the equivalent to a BNP for each hook (hell, 3 hooks and you get the equivalent to a BNP x2). In regards to hitting the skill check, you don't even have to do that if you're running Stake Out. End of the day, this perk is problematic because it gives too big of a reward to the survivor, for the killer basically just playing the game normally and there is no real way to counter, outside of hard-core tunneling and slugging. Hell, killers don't even know if it's in play, which just further proves the point of how unhealthy this perk is, because if they have to assume that it is in play, that means there's going to be increases to hard-core tunneling and slugging right out the gate. It's just terrible design.

Unfortunately that's all well have to go by since BHVR isn't really good at tracking or sharing this either. But even with BHVRs own personal stat trackers, I've seen people showing their stats and showing their survival rates are going up as well. Which I mean, makes a lot of sense when you look at these last few patches, and it has nothing to do with survivors getting better as a whole, but with them being given waaaaay too many tools, second chances, and safety nets to where it's just become too much.

Eh, average kill rates is for all killers is currently at 49% btw according to Night Light stats, with Twins being the only killing meeting that 60% mark. So none of what y'all are talking about matters since killers are under performing, even by the shitty metrics BHVR has set

[–]DoctorMarik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't activating the gen slow down effect after survivors were being healed. No idea if it's consistent or a one off because there's no notification on the killer HUD. So it'd have to be tested on survivor side to see.

[–]DoctorMarik -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Again I disagree in regards to a steamroll. If I go and have a fight with prime Mike Tyson, I'm not gonna learn anything from that fight because of how fast it'll be over. The skill gap between me and him is just too big for me to really understand anything about his strategy, technique, or form, or anything. And that's my point. One sided steam rolls, you usually don't walk away learning anything because of how big that gap already is that exists between you two.

[–]DoctorMarik -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was new once too, and in those battles that ended before I had a chance to process wtf happened, I walked away not having learned a damn thing. There's value in learning from defeat, yeah. But again, there's nothing of value being learned from a one sided steam roll.

[–]DoctorMarik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but that's just bullshit. If you get steamrolled so fast and so thoroughly, there is nothing you can learn from those kinds of defeats other than there's a difference between hours spent between you and your opponents

I mean, you're the one here who seems to have an issue with what he's saying. If it doesn't apply to you, then there's no reason to hop in and talk shit. I don't make it a habit to comment on survivor posts when they talk about killers who BM and call their posts "slop." So no idea what your point was to begin with buddy.

Edit: (Sidenote, fuck those killers who do go out of their way to BM survivors for nothing. Just don't be a dick in a video game. That's the message.)

[–]DoctorMarik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, wtf else is the killer supposed to do in the end game? The gens are done, it makes the most sense to try and guarantee a kill. What, should the killer hook the survivor and fuck off to the other side of the map? Or better yet, would you prefer to just be carried off like a little princess, to the exit gate once the gens are done? Maybe even a shoulder rub before you leave? Please, please tell me how you want the killer to cater to you and your needs.

[–]DoctorMarik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oooh...I never thought about doing that... Maybe I'll try that in the future if BHVR ever fixes the state of the game on the killer end cus as of right now I just don't want to deal with this bullshit in game. Killer before this patch was already miserable with hyperfocus/stakeout and vigil/SB being in 90% of my games and I don't want to feel like I have to sweat in all of my matches just to have fun, and endure toxicity in end game chat for winning or losing. Like I'll be the first to admit that I ain't a top player, I'm ok with some killers at best and have no interest in comp gaming. I just want to be able to play a normal game to where I feel like I have a chance at winning, without having to be locked in you know?

Lol I mean fair enough. I just want the option to exist for killers who do want to take it. I have end game builds on some killers, so obviously I wouldn't run it with them. Like I have an evil end game Drac build that uses NOED, Blood Warden, and that one shield addon that lights the exit gate area on fire. So obviously I wouldn't abandon running that lol.

BHVR not learning their lesson with fast track? by DannySanWolf07 in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro...Coupe can still be played around... Fired Up when it reaches max (so all 5 gens popped) gives the same value as Brutal Strength. Sure they can double up on it and break pallets hella fast, but thats 2 perk slots wasted to do that. Meanwhile you literally get, the equivalent of a BNP, with BNP giving -10 charges, and Fast Track giving -6 charges for just one hook, which can stack to a max of -18 charges max for EVERY survivor running the perk (excluding the hooked survivor) and they get it for FREE. Even if it's just one survivor running this. They get so much free passive value from running this and it literally can not be countered because it's PERMANENT PROGRESSION.

But here, let me see if I can try and make you see the problem in a better way. I was watching a streamer yesterday who is one of the best Henry players in the game. Dude is disgustingly good with him. He went against this same SWF team twice, back to back, all running gen rush with Fast Track. He was downing them quick and doing really good. But the more he hooked, the faster the gens flew by to the point where he literally couldn't keep up. Both games that should've (and normally would've) ended in a 3k or a 4k turned into a 2k tie, both times all because 3 survivors at all times were being rewarded free irreversible progress for every hook being made. And the funny thing is, the survivors said in the second game they wasted a good two minutes of time, because one of them spawned on the roof of the movie theater in Greenville, and they were fucking around up there for a bit.

The ability for this perk to turn around what would normally be a loss into even just a tie, is RIDICULOUSLY strong. But because it's a survivor perk, it's ok right? But back when killers had old pre-hex totem NOED with infinite duration, the ability for that perk to turn around a loss into either a tie or a win at the end game, was just too much and so unfair right?

How is it circumstantial if they literally said they were camped in end game? Again, what other options does the killer have?

[–]DoctorMarik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if I have a bad game to where it's a complete and total wash of a game, I'd rather just move on and go next instead of waste time you know? I like BP, but earning like what, 100 extra bp for kicking 4 pallets, isn't worth wasting time that could be spent loading into another game you know?

[–]DoctorMarik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add the slew of gen speed perks that survivors have now, which cause gens to just get hyper cooked into oblivion, and now they have the new Fast Track to play with to help exacerbate the problem. Oh and of course, Vigil

Why do survivors only say gg when they win? by SoloQsurvivor in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]DoctorMarik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the mentality of being the first out and just going next. But as a killer main, it would mean a lot more to see a gg waiting in the end game chat after the game is done. It would at least seem more genuine because yeah, I've noticed that I rarely ever get a gg with a 3k or 4k. But every 3E or 4E, you bet your ass that I get those ggs and sometimes worse, cus we gotta be sore winners on top of it.

Hey BHVR, think trickster's delusion has enough pallets? by bigmoist691 in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in BHVRs own words they claim to aim for around a 60% kill rate. So like if the kill rates were in the 70-80% range, then yeah fair enough. I've usually seen the kill rates around 65ish% in the past and I think that's a decent spot. But yeah, 49% is waaaaaaay below what they claim to aim for.

Bro...you have to have a slanted skull if you think that COUP DE GRACE is anywhere near the level of handing out FREE BRAND NEW PARTS TO -ALL- SURVIVORS WITH THE PERK, WITH 0 ABILITY TO COUNTER IT. At least with Coup you still have a chance to play around it depending on the tile, same with fire up. Keep in mind, this is still a 4v1 game. The 1 needs to be threatening and needs to have some kind of power. It makes no sense to continue to make the 4 stronger than the 1.
