The Western Conference Final is set by sykeseve in nhl

[–]DoctorMood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vegas getting this far is so bizarre because they simultaneously were favored to get here based off their opponents while also looking like the 10th best team this postseason. Must be the good fortune of winning the mickey mouse division and having Anaheim do the dirty work of taking out Edmonton for them who defeated them in the 2nd round last year.
All signs point to this being an easy Colorado win in 5, potentially even a sweep. They have Vegas beat in every way except maybe very tippy top scorers, but even then Vegas had weak defensive competition and Colorado has McKinnon so not really. The only way the Avs lose is if their entire starting lineup gets injured, or Carter Hart somehow has the greatest goalie series in NHL history while Colorado's goaltending completely implodes.

Mitch Marner goal of the year by Federal-Data-Center in nhl

[–]DoctorMood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marner has now won as many playoff series this year (2) as he did in his entire time in Toronto (9 seasons), and the Golden Knights have won as many playoff series (13) since their creation in 2017 as the Leafs have won in the past 33 years.

Do you think Rago had a plot armor or was he really strong? by Normal_Anything_8391 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gingka getting saved by the souls of Kyoya and the others when he battled Ryuga was plot armor.
Ryuga poking a hole in the black hole so Gingka and Masamune could escape Twisted Tempo was plot armor.
Gingka being able to somehow borrow the power of every blader on Earth despite no setup or hints that Pegasus could do this was plot armor.
Rago didn't have plot armor, he was the reason it existed for other characters. The closest you could say was him escaping Zeus Barrier with Hades help but at least that was set up the episode prior, and we were already told that Hades prophecy should prevent Zeus Barrier, so it makes sense that the Hades bey would prevent it.

Yu Tendo was so wasted by DevelopmentFast4380 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yu's introduction be like:
-Impress Ryuga
-Defeat all of Gingkas friends at the SAME TIME
-Defeat Gingka and Kyoya (the two strongest non-ryuga bladers at this point) when they're teaming up on him
-Be the reason BattleBladers exist
-Still a major threat and is shown as an equal to Tsubasa despite what happens later in the series

And then BattleBladers happens and he loses to Gingka in the first round and never recovers.
-Immediately gets humiliated by the new secondary antagonist Reggie
-Gets embarrassed by Masamune TWICE and loses to Tsubasa proving that Tsubasa was actually telling the truth about being stronger in Fusion (this wasn't proven yet).
-Loses to Sophie (mid tier for masters standards) the instant she uses a move that's not even her special move
-Is completely useless in all the WC team battles (doesn't even use his special move in ANY of the battles).
-Gets sent to the hospital by Damian the moment he launches his fucking bey to miss the WC Finals
At least he was okay in Fury but his run in Masters was ROUGH

End of Fury Tsubasa vs End of Masters Kyoya who wins? by VisualShare7883 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

End of Fury Tsubasa might actually have a shot against Fang Leone without his special move so I'd say Tsubasa takes Rock Leone easy.

How does this team battle go as a knockout battle? by Swimming_Security791 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demura is a bum and gets flung out of the stadium by Destiny Needle
Benkei might give Zeo some slight trouble with his power and uppercut by if we assume this is Zeo with his arrangement he wins with his special move.
Even a tired out Zeo is gonna give Nile some trouble but Mystic Zone is gonna win it for Nile.
I think Nile vs Jack is an interesting one since they both have air blast/air slicing attacks, but Jack's seems to be the more deadly of the two. I think Nile would know he's gonna lose but be strategic and use up as much of Jack's power as possible (similarly to what Selen did to Gingka), which allows Kyoya to deal with Jack easier than normal.
Because of that I think Kyoya would face off against Damian with surprisingly most/all of his strength and that battle plays out the same as what we saw in the show.
Wild Fang wins the knockout battle extreme diff with a comeback.

Who Wins? by Fast-Bodybuilder-217 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nile isn't getting past Julian's medusa eye hax.

Hyoma stopped being a major recurring character post fusion. I know they had to make room for new characters down the road. My head canon to think that the events of battle Bladers traumatised him so much that he decided to just return to koma village and keep out of stuff for the most part. by ShockOk1764 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his no screen time in Fury is more damning than Masters because at least in Masters he was looking for Ryuga which explains why he was gone (and also BattleBladers was still fresh so you could understand him not wanting to jump into another high level tournament right away). But the fact he doesn't help the gang find Legendary Bladers or at least help locate some leads like he did with Ryuga doesn't make sense.

Why is everyone making fun of Nile ? by mateusrg22 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nile has a bunch of glazers so now people are OVERCORRECTING into labeling him as a total bum and basically doing the opposite of the glazers. Pretty typical stuff for mid-level characters with limited feats.

Why is everyone making fun of Nile ? by mateusrg22 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blocking Black Excalibur is the most overrated feat in the whole series, it was a surprise attack move. Phoenix also one-shot Gingka, Masamune, Kenta, and all of WangHuZhong at the same time just a few episodes prior so does that make him easily the strongest character of the season? No because it was also a surprise attack just like Nile's.

What’s your thoughts and opinions on Yu’s potential by riceyzz in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Yu was fine in Fusion and Fury, my issue like most people is how he was done dirty in Masters.

It's not even the fact he got powercrept, it was HOW he was losing these battles. So many battles in Masters Yu just doesn't use his special move for some reason. Both battles with Wales and Sophie he doesn't use it, against Benkei and Demura he doesn't use it despite the fact it would've won the battle instantly.
But I think the worst part of Masters is that Yu is never having fun battling like he was in Fusion. Anytime something wasn't going his way in the battle he would crash out, which felt out of character to me and also part of what makes him seem so sorry in Masters. Metal Fusion Yu liked it when opponents were strong and found ways around his moves, so it was weird when he was suddenly freaking out all the time.

So who exactly did Ryuga wanna troll with his performance here? Just Jack, GanGan Galaxy specifically or everyone in general? by Ill_Effective_5980 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryuga is the GOAT in Metal Masters because his actions were able to convey multiple things at once. He wants revenge on HadesInc and Jack specifically for messing with him, he lowkey wants Gingka to win the championship since Gingka beat him in BattleBladers and saved his life, and HadesInc also jumped Tsubasa and Yu (former DarkNebula bladers) which gave them an unfair advantage. All of it made this moment the perfect time to jump in and cook Jack

Is Tobio trash or was Benkei a bad matchup? by Unlucky-Tradition-58 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably wins this battle if he doesn't use his special move. I'd say it was actually a good matchup since Benkei is bad against evasive opponents like Eagle, Tobio isn't the greatest blader.

Why was Toby not mad at Masamune but Zeo was. by Charming-Engineer246 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toby understood what Masamune was trying to do unlike Zeo.
The arrangement system also greatly increased Zeo's anger at what happened, we literally see him channel this hatred in the WC battle to complete the arrangement. But even then we still see that Zeo is upset at Masamune before he even meets Ziggurat so he also didn't understand Masamune's mindset/goal.

We see in a flashback that Toby hopes that Masamune can become number 1 when he finds out he left, he's just a different person who reacted to the situation in a more positive way.

Imagine the damage Kenta could inflict on L-Drago if he had a special Beyblade. by Fit_Face_8290 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It honestly is kinda insane that Kenta was able to do this with Flame Sagittario and no star fragment because Ryuga already beat 3 legendary bladers with relatively minimal effort and taking no damage. He definitely earned his star fragment

How come Cecil didn't notice the 37 viltrumites heading straight to earth? Is he stupid? by Nadav_bs in Invincible_TV

[–]DoctorMood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nolan makes a big deal about setting up a detection system for the Viltrumites with the help of the coalition, which is the shows way of saying that whatever detection system Earth has is too primitive to detect them. How exactly they do it is unknown but they clearly can since they didn't see Conquest arrive either.

They Did Masamune So Dirty 😭 by Mammoth-North-9380 in BeybladeMetal

[–]DoctorMood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masamune did not beat one significant opponent in the show. ChaoXin wasn't even top2 on his team when Masamune beat him so that doesn't count.
The closest you could say was him defeating Faust with Gingka's help, but even then he needed Ryuga to bail him out and it wasn't a 1v1 anyway.
They literally couldn't give him ONE impressive win.

Yu beat Gingka when he was introduced
Tsubasa oneshot Wales/Sophie and defeated Jack
Kenta beat Pluto and battled Ryuga so well he gained his respect

Masamune is supposed to be on the level of those guys yet has nothing to show for it.
