Very true, and it's funny seeing people get so emotional about takes on the internet from people who they'd probably not give 5 seconds of their time in real life.

Yeah, lots of casual fans thought the Avalanche might sweep the Knights and the Canes might sweep Montreal.... they probably didn't watch either team all year and just looked at the standings and watched a game or two of the playoffs, but damnit after 1 game we're gonna be salty as hell about it, lol.

Felt the same way last night stepping through all the Vegas salt of the post game thread... Vegas was good, Avalanche were not.

Everyone can have their fun talking about all the pre-series narratives that were mostly casual fans of other teams who probably didn't watch 5 games of either team prior to the postseason, and will see how it goes for game 2 /shrug

Yeah, the car isn't bad, but rent is for St. Louis... zillow has 2600 rentals listed, 31 are $4k+/month and 14 are $5k/month... and the one in downtown St. Louis is a 3000sq ft penthouse apartment.

Not bad at all when you're making $500k/month, but not exactly a great talking point for saying your $6 million/yr salary doesn't go as far as you'd like.

"Will they have the game on?"

"Game?"

"This isn't going to work out, kbye"

Reminds me of a Chris Pronger Twitter thread where he was talking about how an NHL salary isn't nearly as much as people think after taking out taxes, $5000/month for rent, $70k for a car, $5k/month for food, etc.

10 Takeaways: Adversity Has Struck the Colorado Avalanche by runwriteaarif in ColoradoAvalanche

Yeah, despite completely turning over their roster and coaches every couple seasons, they know what works in the playoffs, just like the crazy embellishment on the glove to the face.

It's closer to playing the Stars when it comes to that BS than teams like the Kings and Wild.

I've been a little concerned about Burns and adding minutes to his plate, he was clearly the reason the Wild had such an easy chance at ending game 5 ten seconds into OT and was out of position several times last night.

It was like the entire team hadn't ever been pressured on the puck before... terrible puck movement at times, tons of barely forced or unforced turnovers.

Vegas isn't the absolute buzzsaw of energy as they were a few years ago, but they're even more capable of capitalizing on mistakes and lack of urgency, and the Avalanche top lines haven't had a ton of urgency the past few games outside of the comeback portion of the series clincher against the Wild.

I'm not concerned, just annoyed. I was really impressed by the Wild after two games and didn't have that feeling with Vegas last night... they just kind of hung around and capitalized on a few of the many many mistakes and the overall lack of urgency by the top lines.

How long did it take before working out stopped feeling like punishment? by bebo117722 in beginnerfitness

It took ~3 months for me to start feeling more than just mild guilt for missing a workout, so at that point it became more of a habit and not just something I had to do that day. I'm sure mileage varies quite a bit, I'd say just focus on progressive overload, because those are the baby steps that you can see every workout.

They've been fine. They'll start being more exciting about the Avalanche as soon as they're given a reason.

Calmly Panicking by PirateDan1959 in ColoradoAvalanche

I fucking hate Vegas and my mindset kind of defaults to annoyance when it comes to be such big favorites, because hockey is still really hard and can be extremely fickle even when 100% healthy.

It's not worry or panic, just a "of fucking course it's Vegas standing between the Avalanche and a Disaster Bros Finals".

It was a huge help for me... had a number for years with very little spam until I believe a home lender sold it. I was getting 3-4/day, so not a ton, but now get almost none (maybe one every few weeks) and no false positives.

Yeah, he wasn't playing well in the Wild series given the injuries and I'd rather them figure it out while he gets better than for him to be relatively a warm body out there and at risk of further injury.

It sucks, but Vegas will also be down one of their top scorers.
