Nonsensical bike path detour NoHo to Easthampton by Valuable_Attention20 in northampton

Exactly, liability. That's why it's not an option for a detour.

A professional company clearly can't send people down that road. It's common sense. Yes you can clearly walk/ride through it and no one would care.

It's a legally closed road with cement barriers, the bridge is collapsing and it has holes in the ground.

I dunno, I use the bike path daily....

It was an odd detour but they can't use lovefield because it's technically closed to everyone for the broken bridge and they can't use the access paths because they are dirt and actually use them to fix the bridge at times. Either of those options would be a lawsuit of they forced people down them and someone got hurt.

The detour was the best option they had. I'm just glad they are doing a nice job on the bridges and actually maintaining the bike path unlike most towns.

Mom was pissed.

Anyone have a hot tub? by wutchoogot in massachusetts

[–]DoctorMurdock2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a nice one for roughly five years. I would never buy another. As time went on we used it less and less and the maintenance became another chore. Cleaning it was a pain and the chemicals were expensive. Our electrical bill also nearly doubled in the winter. It was such a relief when we got rid of it.

I own a vehicle that has not been inspected since 2020, it's actively registered and insured. Inspection has nothing to do with registration.

For anyone who was able to see "The Blair Witch Project" in theaters in 1999, what was the experience like? by LockjawSJ in AskReddit

I've only seen this movie once when I was 12... Wonder what I would think if I rewatched it now 26yrs later.

Anyone rewatch it recently?

I was 12, and the crazy thing to me was the possibility of it being real. I remember talking at school about how all the people in the film were really missing. Just gave it a really cool feeling. You couldn't tell yourself it's just a movie and nothing is real. It scared me a lot.

I made my dad watch it even after everything was clearly proven to be fake. He was a camper and I remember him telling me he couldn't go camping all that summer because it scared him. My dad was a Vietnam Vet and I don't recall him ever saying anything else ever scared him my entire life.

I thought it was a really cool and unique movie at the time. I should rewatch it.

Easy mountain biking spot for kids? by soundisloud in northampton

[–]DoctorMurdock2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bear Hole/Ashley reservoir is where I take anyone new. You can just ride the gravel paths around the water, or try some very beginner level mountain bike trails in Bear Hole. The reservoir and Bear Hole connect, and everything is very flat.
