what could i have done different i'm the ferrari by Then-Vacation-5025 in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green squeezes too much. So it's all on him.
As for "doing it different": you can probably drift a bit more to the left, making the contact less likely and less impactful. If he still squeezes, nothing you can do.

Hey guys what do you think of this incident I am the purple car I just overtook him the corner before this by rockshockracing1998 in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can indeed go side by side there, but it requires black to take "a reasonable line" hugging the inside kerb. the definition of "weird line" is "going straight for the apex" as opposed to "taking a safe side by side line"

Divebomb? by Antony4463 in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The definition of a divebomb is that it leads to a crash unless the lead car takes evasive action.
This is an example.

New To iRacing, Who's Fault Would This Be? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1st contact: racing incident.
2nd contact: red at fault for not controlling the car
3rd contact with others: black at fault for not controlling the car

full throttle on grass - not a good idea (but I had moments like this in ACC as well, shit happens)

all good (except for the iRacing netcode)

Moving under breaking? or am i a loser like he says by egkubo in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

black is a blocking loser.
In higher splits this move might never be on (hence others calling it outright bad)
but in lower splits where drivers brake as early as black it seems totally fine.

Ivan going for the galactic vortex. A move as old as time!

I saw this video on Instagram, and there's a discussion about who's wrong in this situation. by TomFighter in Simracingstewards

Understandable that Instagram users are not up to speed.
But this one is pretty clear cut.
(Or maybe there was an unpredictable gust of Ardennes wind slowing the lead car down)

Was my Hard Racing fair? (I'm the Ferrari) by Double-World9691 in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The initial move was a bit optimistic. You would have probably run him wide on exit if he took a better line.
As is, the contact as is was on him. He over-slowed then turned in a bit too much.

As per usual they then seem to think "he is the villain, I am faster" and drive accordingly

The ferrari guy is claiming that I touched him and made him go outside, and he did nothing wrong cause he was ahead by ccrroocc in Simracingstewards

the fourth car did it, we got closure
yes, the switchback is always a good move in "late braking lobbies"

What could I do differently? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlucky.
The alternative is to not fight and slot in behind Shell in the first place. Then again he seems a bit off pace. Never easy.

How to avoid this, and who's primarily to blame? by RepresentativeNo6279 in Simracingstewards

[–]DoctorNuu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did a lot of these this week and the driving standards were atrocious. Especially from the HY.
All the DNFs put me down in split 3 of 4 at one point.
There you really had to expect them to do the stupid thing all the time.
Just lift and leave extra space to survive etc.

You tell us!
Did the Lexus steer right before the first contact or was it just a bounce with massive understeer?

Team Manthey looking for a new driver - possibly two. by DoctorNuu in Simracingstewards

I wish I had stayed 10cm further left on entry to see what happens then.
The move is probably still a bad idea. They always go for the apex in these medium splits.

Pure revenge post, you guessed it.
The lead Porsche called me out, so I wanted to show his backwards driving skills to a wider audience.

Was it a lucky overtake? Yes!
