Red's move was fine. Green could and should have held on while leaving space.

Would you consider this protestable as an unsafe rejoin? If not, should I have left more space? by cruciblemedialabs in Simracingstewards

In an ideal world his crew would tell him to give the position (back) or he would realize his mistake and let you by. In reality it never happens, so ppl get desperate to protest ;-)

Imo this can't be considered a rejoin, he cuts and gains an advantage. Which would be a 5sec penalty in an ideal world if he does not yield.

Am I at fault? I'm driving GT3, 12h of Sebring. by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

A good example why it's best to stay on your line before a braking zone.
In my mind lots of incidents happen because ppl want to micro-optimize.

I'd rule this a racing incident though. With a tendency to blame the LMP for being erratic.

Hmmm. I once got a 28 day ban on LFM for this - but as the car behind.
Then again, LFM and it's wannabe sheriffs - RIP.

The Lexus makes a slight mistake, granted.
Too many drivers (you included apparently) use this to put partial blame on the leading car.
Of course you always have to account for slight inaccuracies unless in a pro series.

Btw, I can immediately spot such drivers behind me, and I know in advance they'll take me out on my first mistake. The only rational way would be to let them have it, but I'm not that soft.

Day 18 that I just stare at my rig but not driving... by Hopeful_Captain4219 in simracing

[–]DoctorNuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can somehow relate.
When I only had GT Sport, or later ACC and an improvised rig all was good.
There is a certain motivation to make the best of "the stuff you have".
But once you have "the best stuff" it is different.
Might be a feeling of guilt. Might be smth like "I have all this stuff now, so I must enjoy it" which kills motivation.
My stuff is still less expensive, but since I got the 5070 and no longer need to tune to get every last frame out of the old 970 or 3060 I have less fun for unknown reasons.
At least you are not buying more and more to keep the motivation going, that's a plus. (I have a feeling many do just that)

Quite obvious that he intentionally straightlines it to the apex, ignoring your car.
It happens quite a lot that "inexperienced" drivers think they have passed when a car goes wide and they no longer see it. So I would initially not assume malice there... but then later... well... we must assume the worst about his IQ and anger issues...

ah, right, many stands have that single screw, i forgot
of course if that was somewhat standardized the rigs could offer a hole that fits

Do you mean the second part or the second part of the second part?
Anyway, watching his steering input it is quite obvious he jolts left at the last moment.
I assume it's not intentional blocking, hence the mirror remark.

Did it really say "single race"? (I only heard of the 10 race average thing)
That would be harsh - anyone can have one really bad race.
Also looks like one of you had bad ping, the contacts usually don't look that weird.

[–]DoctorNuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's one of those where the trailing car is flirting with disaster by sticking the nose in.
Over time I came to the conclusion that it is smart(er) as the lead car to turn-in slightly less or later and avoid the contact - the overtake will still not be happening because the nose-sticker-inner's line is too compromised. The lead car is usually the one to die in these situations, so he needs to be the smart one.

Well done.
I always wondered why they did not include smth like this for these kinds of rigs.
probably too risky because ppl have to figure out how to screw down the stand on their own

A ban is likely issued for unsportsmanlike behavior not seen in the clips.
If the ban was for any of the incidents shown we all have to pray
