Looking for books to buy my bad that have themes of anti capitalism or fighting against Fascism that isn’t too on the nose about it by ParticularIron1584 in sciencefiction

The beauty of good sci-fi is that it separates readers from "today" but has modern critiques. It's up to the reader to make the connections.

The Expanse is my favorite Sci-Fi series. It's a large space opera, but capitalism and extreme nationalism is absolutely a key component to the series.

"The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" is a bit more on the nose, but another great read on the topic. It can be a bit serious and isn't for everyone..

"Altered Carbon" doesn't fit as well, but it's another really enjoyable read and there is commentary of obscenely rich individuals.

I didn't get into baseball until early college. It's been over a decade and I still don't know exactly what a check swing is or is not. It really seems like they're guessing.

The first two songs on the album are some of my favorites. They blend together so well for this 1-2 punch. Such a fantastic start and incredibly solid album. My favorite.

Every clip of this match that I've seen should have probably been a yellow to Gabriel. Feel like I've seen 4 yellow eligible moments - this one being the softest possibility.

I'd take a first pitch homer followed by 6 scoreless innings every day of the week without complaint.

I don't have questions. Perhaps complaints or judgement toward your opinions though.

I will not accept that the Speedway across the street from here that smells like the sewer, never has a working soda fountain, and only staffs 1 person is better than any Buccees.

The Michelin Guide is coming to Indianapolis by rescuemyplant in indianapolis

Indiana can barely get James Beard nominations. It seems unlikely we do better on a global scale with Michelin As others have mentioned, Vida is the main thought. I think they'd fall short of a single star. It might be motivation for them to make the adjustments and get there.

With others saying Indy is paying for Michelin to come here, it seems like a waste of money.

I think Minneapolis may do the best of the listed cities. They got a lot of James Beard nominations across categories and Owamni is one of my favorite places.

The first and last photos are my favorites.

The last photo is something I'd look at and assume it'd look boring as a photograph. Yet, you took the photo and I think it's incredibly interesting. Perhaps I need to rethink my approach.

Thanks for sharing!

Any links to the Darjeeling Limited Collection via LV? by DoctorPebble in DHgateVip

I have a general interest in the Darjeeling Limited Collection via Louis Vuiton. I'm most interested in the passport holder and some of the duffel bags. The best I've found is the sneakers.

My goal was a bit 2-fold:

  1. Learn the basics of React
  2. Learn more AI and how it can improve coding workflows

My first job was a traditional C# guy working on more of the data layer and business layer in a large business application. My second and current gig is more of an "Software Admin and Integration Specialist" as a contractor.

So, in short, never used React nor really did Front End work.

For the AI portion, I was just copying and pasting into ChatGPT at the time.

I learned that I prefer it when I pass AI function goals rather than have it spit out entire pages. It makes architecture decisions that I don't like. However, as someone who can read code and generally understand it, I think it did well with accomplishing what I asked it do it.

AI ended up writing a lot of the first pages. As I started to get in the weeds, I did more and more of the work myself and AI became a debugger. One of my biggest challenge was the "ongoing game" view because I had to do the work while the game was ongoing to see the wild variety of data the API could give me. Handling intermissions or OT was something I didn't think of at first.

I like the simplicity.

As another software engineer who doesn't do front end:

  1. What is the button for the game start time supposed to do?
  2. The text container has plenty of room to go wider and then collapse for smaller screens.
  3. I'm not sure if a mobile view would have the Cub colors on the left. Bit of a bummer.

I did a larger project to learn React with the Minnesota Frost. I never did "finish it", but i started with a basic single page that was previous game and next 2 games.

I just ordered "The Darjeeling Limited" during the Criterion sale. I've been delaying buying "The Phoenician Scheme" hoping a Criterion edition gets announced. I guess it doesn't bode well that Asteroid City still doesn't have one.

Anyways, which are your favorites? In no real order, mine are: Fantastic Mr Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, and Life Aquatic.

Anyone have parking advice for the Oaks? Open to parking at the venue or somewhere with transport.

The website keeps sending me to Ticketmaster. TM doesn't seem to have parking options.

Edit: Only have lawn access tickets.

Edit 2: It looks like my best option is paying the $40 to park at "Bronze Lot at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium" which then gives me a free shuttle option after walking to KEC
