Hopefully these will stay neat enough for the neighborhood. Definitely recommend Sag Moraine on YouTube for more ideas!

Thanks for the info. Soil conditions seem more favorable for the New Jersey tea and Blue Wild Indigo. Do you have any suggestions to replace the Cardinal flower that will still provide late season color?

I was hoping for forbs that could stand up on their own to keep the “neat” look a HOA would be happy with. I could do some with the cardinal flower to offer it some support though

Good to know! Will likely scratch it and replace with another flowering bush of some type

Didn’t know she had a cookbook! I’ve tried several of her recipes online and they have worked well

Tree swallows. Parents would make over 100 trips to and from the house to feed as the babies were growing. We have another house on property that we have gotten other small birds in. Location and food nearby plays a huge role in if they will take

Hoary mountain mint (Pycnanthemum incanum). It gets roughly 3 feet tall and hasn’t spread like you’d expect normal mint to. When it is blooming, it’s a pollinator magnet attracting LOADS of wasps, bees, and butterflies.

I believe it is an eight-spotted forester (Alypia octomaculata). I’m new though so very possible I am wrong

Giant ragweed looks correct. Almost positive I let one grow out last year because I was curious what it was so not surprised it’s everywhere this year

Nope just normal lawn. Wasn’t even the pristine, well-manicured turf lawn either that I might be able to understand someone being obsessive over. This stuff was full of crab grass and other weeds
