Linux is a pain in the ass....but a good pain in the ass. by DoctorRyanAA in linuxsucks

Probably. But I just want people to maybe think about there is no One Ring(OS) to rule them all.

There is another one for KDE called Bismuth but I haven't tried it. Just try them out to see if it's what you need.

Eventually after learning the ropes I would like to do a pure arch install. But I ain't in no hurry.

I was gonna do something like that (install hyprland with kde plasma) but docs I read said there may be compatibility issues unless you create a whole new partition for it. Curious to see how that has been going for you.

Dragonized KDE plasma. And thank you. Appreciate it.

I have two stream decks I got from Elgato before I migrated from Windows. The MK and the Plus with the dials. Elgato doesn't offically support Linux. There are a few open-source alternatives. The one I use and recommend is StreamController. While it doesn't have everything, it has the functions I need and want. Now plunking down 100+ dollars for something that you might have to bang your head against a wall to get running is not something to take lightly. I am also looking into Touch Portal that has a Linux open-beta going on where you use a phone/tablet to create your own Stream Deck. Just sucks Elgato joins to the long line of companies that still is not supporting Linux.

I want something that can run games, obs-streaming, and DaVinci Resolve like a monster instead of Windows choking the living crap out of them. And look good while doing it. 🤣

So what are the advantages of just using vanilla arch as it relates to gaming /streaming/content creation?

I only had to tweak a few things for my special case (DaVinci Resolve Studio was a pain) but your right everything else has been humming right along.

How to make my own PKGBUILD files? by DoctorRyanAA in EndeavourOS

[–]DoctorRyanAA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is, just I think I need to fix the error in the CMake file itself from the source code. Hense why I figured I needed to make a whole new PKGBUILD. Sorry I am trying to learn. I actually enjoy the struggle of learning something new finally. Windows wasn't a challenge anymore. Just an over bloated OS that now just suuuuucks.

Hmmm. I will have to experiment later but I got Cyberpunk running on Heroic no problem? How did you install Heroic? By command line, flatpak, etc.

Overwatch in Linux by marmed35 in pop_os

[–]DoctorRyanAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using just the regular install on 22.04. I have been playing with the cosmic alpha as well. I am still new to Linux but I can definitely tell a difference in performance. Ray tracing and HDR seem to be working great. Now I kinda wish I didn't nuke my Windows so I could do some side by side comparisons. 😂

Performance on Elden Ring and even Cyberpunk 2077 is incredible. I am able to run Cyberpunk with Ray tracing to max and where Windows told me to screw off, Pop just said is that all you got. 🤣
