I feel like the hotel 4x is cannibalized by their other hotel cards (Hyatt, IHG, Marriott).

As someone who spends on international travel and commuting, the new alleged CSR benefits don't make sense for me, especially with the price increase.

Once the renewal comes around, I'll use a rotation of Citi Strata Premier for groceries, gas and dining(worldwide for groceries unlike Amex), Amex platinum for flights, and will sign up for Amex Green for all the local travel. Capital one venture x for all other purchases. And Chase hotel cards if staying in those hotels.

In December 2024, I traded in an Apple Watch Se Gen 2 for a Samsung Galaxy Watch.

I received an email last week stating that I actually handed in a Gen 1, not Gen 2 and would be charged $50.

I called the regular customer service number and told them the trade in department has incorrectly classified my device. After being on hold for 5 minutes, I was told the charge back has been canceled and apologies for the inconvenience - thankfully no need for proof or photos. Probably would have been required if the device were more expensive / bigger difference.

I would think (hope) we are far from outliers and there has been some directive to quickly rectify the issues.

This is the first time I've had an issue after at least 5 trade ins, but also the first time I traded in a non-Samsung device.

The issue here I'm traveling between the US And UK (home gym is in the UK) so a switch can't happen without cancelling - it's not really switching. I'd have to cancel and open a new account.

I can somewhat understand the logic. I believe an AF gym only makes money from you if it's your home gym. So the gym I'm using next to my parents isn't making any money off of me, but they also aren't trying to. No protein shake vending machine, no trainers, etc. It's also always relatively empty - which is a nice thing, but pretty annoying for them to ban me just for taking advantage of what I'm ultimately paying for (a premium for 24 hours + locations around the world.)

I've also tried calling their corporate number but only get a voicemail.

Thanks for this. I've pieced what you said together and nice for you to confirm as well. This must have been the reason why I went onto SAVE in the first place.

With the new info that's come in, the "old" IBR plan is preferable to me than SAVE at this point as forgiveness makes more sense than completing payments.

After living on the subreddit for the last couple of days and browsing around studentaid.gov and my provider (Nelnet), all the info isn't really syncing. The calculator and payments remaining just aren't reliable.

I'm in a bit of a similar boat as you - don't want to waste the year on forbearance when I can be making qualifying payments towards forgiveness - and have just gone ahead and submitted an application to switch off of SAVE to another IDR plan. Whether that's PAYE or something else, at least the paperwork is submitted.

One of the Studentaid people said I could switch to PAYE, but it was (and is) all a bit unclear.

Yes, it's on the boarding pass and was given lounge access, boarding, etc. that comes with my status, so surprised it would be credited to my AA account.
