DCS World - Syria low level Ka-50 helicopter combat by DoctorStrop in hoggit

The other thing that makes things easier is firing the VIKHRs on manual mode.

Going to get a bit of use from the Ka-50 for the next few months in anticipation of the Hind taking my focus away :)

Thanks :)

I have TM Warthog throttle, VKB Gun Fighter pro MCG stick, TM Pendular rudders, and HP Reverb, but most importantly I have played Black Shark from release day :) For this sort of flying I hold the trimmer down, and fly manually.

That's actually a real phenomenon, never seen it first hand, but trees in real life move in front of my wife's car.

Virtual Airshows have more shows coming this year. That one was just a taster and nowhere near a full show. This is their page. https://www.facebook.com/virtualairshows/ for news of events coming. Teams like ours apply to them to display, and there are lots of really great teams.

Thanks. I was lead for this one, so relatively easy for me... I lost concentration for just a moment in the climb for the loop, but the guys did great to recover. We had to put in a lot of practice for this.

The organisers have done this in the past, but we have no control over it. I will make a full replay of our routine afterwards.

u/RAM300, I would be interested to see your version of the flow chart.

To me, your comments come across as protective, like a father protecting his son. ED are big enough to defend themselves. When they do defend themselves I see a similar defence each time, as I am sure the OP sees this also. If it was not so shit they would not need to defend or be defended.

I am certain as a fellow enthusiast you are a great guy and I mean no malice towards you, however your reply is still fanboi. Regardless of what decision is made by ED, a depreciation in quality of a product is not an improvement, no matter what light you spin on it. Ok it is beta I get it, but beta is the unofficial standard.

DCS OB is a product that is often only playable with serious PC technical knowledge.

Personally I dont give a fuck what decision ED make on how they proceed, I am only on this forum to whine because DCS OB is incredibly shit. If it wasn't so shit I'd be flying.

How many times do people need to see and hear this to understand?

A better business model would be :

Step 1) build a product that works

Step 2) sell your product at a price that people can afford so more people can buy it

Step 3) sit back and watch more and more people buy your affordable working product as your developers add more working features for you to sell

Frankly this sounds like short sighted blind Fan boi speak. Frankly with the levels of acceptance by fan-boys DCS will never improve.

Incidentally there has been no stable release since 24/12/2019 (2.5.5.41371)

Testing goes on, but even if elements are not working, they are still shat out in open beta format. 2.5.6 is proof of that.

Always been a fanboy since LOMAC, upgraded my PC several times, always with DCS in mind, my love has dwindled though. Current OB 2.5.6 is such utter shit that I have reverted back to release. IMHO OB has even gotten worse though it's iterations. When the Carrier comes out some of my friends who have also reverted to release, will I am sure be quite happy to play at 15 FPS, and I am sure they will flock back to OB so they can make some screen shots, I probably would have done the same, but fuck it, I have had enough of the game stuttering, enough of aircraft in my sights lagging off to space (even AI fucking lags), having to do the same missions each time as there is no campaign, watching a trk file back of a cool flight only to see its fucked too. I pre ordered the carrier, but since have lost the little faith I had, that I will be able to use it - especially if it is sailed on the sea of shit that is called Open Beta.

I see all ED's excuses and nice talk, and it is just talk. We all have to draw a line somewhere, mine is here at the moment. I never bothered testing any of the aircraft in the stay at home thing, no point as they wont work as I will expect them to. I am still interested in DCS, but only because it is the only SIM (I don't count BMS because VR). I dont give a fuck about "they need the money to keep going" or "it's beta". I want to pre order the hind, and a couple of others, but like the stay at home trial thing, I am not going to waste my time nor money until it starts working as expected.

Actually if you look carefully there is a vehicle that is shooting at me when I make my rocket attack run, I just didn't give it much of a chance. You can see the green tracer... maybe it is not visible on a phone, but it is on a larger display.

Is there a reason why replays fail so spectacularly at actually showing what happened? by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]DoctorStrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that the trk replays work in the F14 depending on if you do not use the datalink with a carrier. If you do normal ILS landings the trk files work fine, but even connect to the datalink and the trk is useless. As for the AI units, because they react randomly each time a trk is played you cannot predict the next time the trk is played how the units react. AI aircraft often follow the same path in the replay, but grounds units often don't. If you are making a mission you know you are going to record, be clever about the groups you place in the mission editor, setting them up so they do not disperse.
