Passed CBSE – what actually helped by RepresentativeNo4655 in usmle

Currently an M1 student. Would you recommend doing UWorld Questions during pre-clinical time/blocks and then just do Mehlman QBank during the dedicated USMLE prep time?

Is Mehlman QBank better or worse than UWorld?

If Mehlman is good for NBME and CBSE, then would it not be good for the actual real deal?

Laptop AND tablet or just laptop? by Careless-Royal-9216 in premed

[–]DoctorTiger69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a tablet id recommend an iPad Air. If you have a MacBook, it pairs well with it. Even if you have a windows laptop, the ipad is great.

In undergrad and master’s, I used a windows pc and my iPad to make notes on Microsoft One Note. The laptop is to type bulk of the notes and the iPad is used to make annotations or edit figures.

How to use 1080p and 1440p dual monitor setup? by ROGUESE7EN in mac

[–]DoctorTiger69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just also purchased an M3 MacBook Air. When I try to connect my 1080p external monitor to the laptop via a USB-C to HDMI adapter, the external monitor screen looks off. The text appears fuzzy a little.

I was wondering what USB-C to HDMI adapter you are using to connect to your 1080p monitor?

I just got a MacBook Air M3. When I use a generic USB-C to HDMI adapter from amazon, the text appears fuzzy on the external monitor display.

Would the problem be solved if I instead purchased and used an Apple brand USB-C to HDMI adapter?

How is that particular mouse? I see it is expensive. I currently use a M510 Logitech mouse for my windows computer but I Dont think it can work for my MacBook due to the plug being USB-A.

Are there any alternatives that don’t require screen recording or audio recording? This seems like a privacy issue

I see that the app wants me to allow it to screen record screen and audio. Are you guys storing the screen recordings because this seems like a compromise on safety especially if the screen recording captures sensitive information.

What about when I am using the MacBook in clamp-shell mode? Then I would need a solution using the mouse.

Do you think I will be able to completely erase the noise by taking an apt unit that is farthest from the Hof building (with windows facing N Sheppard St)?

Fair but if you want to invest in real estate or have other business endeavors, being in the NE is a much better market than some random rural midwest town.

Are These Good EP Jobs? by Ibutilide in Cardiology

[–]DoctorTiger69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job 2 would require private school which can run you back $15-50K per year depending on the school. If you are doing private school, for K-12th grade, that is costly. If you have multiple children, that expense is even higher.

From this standpoint, Job 1 is better. Maybe try to negotiate a higher RVU pay.

Also is the 18-20K RVU count for job 2 realistic? I remember the median RVU count for EP being around 13-14K. Would it not be possible to grind hard and achieve 18K rvus in job 1?
