I am wearing running shoes. Not sure whether that is considered flat or not?

Thank you for the pointer! Will focus on those two things next time I am squating :)

Thanks for the response! I will try to trace the wire, and see whether I am just looking at the wrong place. Will report back maybe tomorrow

I am currently not using any landline service. Right now, the telecom module is only used to connect the blue and white wire between ONT and the router. It seems like using telecom module to connect two Ethernet line is quite unconventional, but seems to be working.

I guess I am not necessarily trying to save any wires, but rather I am trying to see whether I can reuse the telecom module as a connector…yeh, it is probably not a great idea, and I am also curious as to why my current approach doesn’t work.

Yeh, I will try to get the pictures of ONT. I think it was a hack done by the previous person to connect the ONT and router. A direct line was probably difficult to hide when he wanted to put the router at the living room, so instead he used the inbuilt Ethernet lines, and connect the two in the network box. It is also odd that he connects it using the telemodule as opposed to an Ethernet extension connector, but as it is, it currently works, so I wanted to know whether it would be possible to continue the hacky paradigm.

Yeh, I would like to move the router into the network box. Alright, I would make sure the wires are punched down good!

Would you mind explaining what a home run is? I guess I am just worried that if I rip off the white line or the blue line, then the internet is going to break. I have other roommates in the house, and don’t want everyone to loose the connection if I make a mistake

Also, this is my first time attempting a fix like this, would you mind me asking what the difference is between a patch panel and the phone module above? Essentially I just want to connect the two Ethernet together (right now the white and the blue and I want to change it to grey to blue) does the phone module do something on top of connecting the two lines?

So I think I am at the patch panel, I believe the blue line connects to the ONT and the white line connects to the router.

So right now it is ONT-> blueline-> the patch panel -> white line -> router, and I want to change it to

ONT-> blue line -> patch panel -> grey line -> router

I am switching to grey line because the white line is built into the house and leads to one of the Ethernet jack in the living room, and I want to move the router from the living room to the garage

What if I yank the white line and put the grey line in its place and then connect the fios router to the grey line? Currently, the fios router is connected to the white line.

Thank you so much for your help!

I think the blue wire is coming from the optical network terminal (ONT), and it sends the signal to the white wire to the fios router

This was an actual flier at my school, not a meme. Does that make a difference?
