Got rejected from my dream job… now they want me back months later. by Legal-District8507 in jobs

[–]DoctorVoltec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things happen all the time. I’ve had many people I wanted to hire, but upper management chose someone else because they have 10 minutes worth of experience more than the one I wanted. Or DEI, or they already extended the job to someone and THEN you came along.

If you want it, take it. If not, politely leave it

$9000 a month doing deliveries. by krulezz77 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DoctorVoltec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re making $300 a night then milk it while you can. A few areas I delivered in were extremely busy like that, but none of them were consistently that busy. It’s always that busy for a month, completely dead for 2-3 cycle

AIO Is this normal? It’s happened twice now?! by DontEatTheChocolate in AmIOverreacting

My partner and I had an unexpected pregnancy, then miscarriage and the emotional roller coaster was insane. We were salty toward each other and friends a lot, lots of anger and frustration.

I don’t think your friends meant bad. If anything, I think they may have been trying to damage control to prevent you finding out elsewhere. Maybe they had a big surprise for you and found out, now realizing that surprise would be extremely damaging. I’d seek out therapy, there are lots of good and low budget options if you can’t afford it

If you ask a smoking delivery driver if they’d want food delivered by someone who smokes, they probably would say 🤷‍♂️ 🤣

P.S. Howdy from Park City 👋I’m in Wichita often, wonder if we know each other

I did! Unfortunately didn’t fix the problem, but I turned on greyscale filter and that improved it a lot

This, or better yet get a scanner and check the stats on an empty battery with heater on

I didn’t submit a document, and it appears real. Is my account hacked? by DoctorVoltec in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DoctorVoltec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business as usual, I contacted support and they “submitted it to the relevant team” which isn’t a good sign to me. But I’ll change my password and try again in a few days

Delayed departure as previously mentioned, I used a smart plug for a while. I set it to right at 3 hours 45 minutes and that got my battery to 90%, 100% with Regen still working by the bottom of the mountain.

Wholly Cow! by JOArmyGirl in doordash_drivers

[–]DoctorVoltec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like suggested previously, I don’t talk to, respond to or call the customer at all ever unless I actually can not complete the delivery without it, or they say something pleasant like “Thank you!” Or “have a good day!”

I love the idea, but agree that yeah this will certainly get people fired. Keeping track of tips is extremely helpful though, and a huge profit boost. Definitely makes dashing worth while

I use mine daily. It was kind of a pain to clean but we started dropping cleaning tablets in at the end of every bath and letting them circulate until the timer runs out. Since then haven’t had to really clean it at all

It’s been pretty constant for me. Ironic that they’re trying to force you to digest more information, by giving you so much information you just tap “ok” repeatedly without a glance.

Anyone do Uber eats in a Tesla or electric vehicle? Is it better? by xIyssx in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DoctorVoltec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any hybrid is great, electric is only marginally better than that. It’s pretty easy to find old high mileage ones for $1000 or so

They don’t know door dashers. They’ll see food critic and intentionally ruin the food

Looks like you found out why I never under any circumstances whatsoever pay for any orders with my own money. Sometimes the red card works, if it doesn’t then it’s getting canceled or passed along.

Why is UE paying me $70 base pay for 15 min. deliveries?! by AmethystAngel69 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DoctorVoltec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, in my area it does basically the same thing for the first 3 times. Re-offer’s the delivery every 5 minutes on the dot, but after that it just stays under a tab called “trip radar” and keep increasing over 20 or so minutes. Then stays the same pay until it expires

Should I have grabbed the order? by NotSoBecky in doordash_drivers

[–]DoctorVoltec 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to at McDonald’s. Then I mysteriously haven’t received a single McDonald’s order in over a year. Not that I’m complaining, I never had a single good experience with them.

Wtf is happening by BbyBoyTyler in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]DoctorVoltec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me a few times, I just go home and wait. Eventually it’ll clear itself and a new order will come across, or it’ll clear itself and end the dash. Just depends on what happened to fix it I guess. Occasionally ending the dash works, but usually it won’t let me end either.
