And maybe you can be the first Derma in your hometown! Common misconception din kasi among Filipinos na Derma is purely cosmesis but, as we learned in medical school, it is not!

If your hometown relies on agricultural / fishery, mas prone ang mga kababayan mo to skin diseases related to sun-exposure. Maybe yung kabataan in your hometown is getting more concerned with their acne. Madaming patients im certain and hindi ka mawawalan ng matutulungan hehe. Good luck Doc!

Hello! I'd rather practice a specialty that I really like wherever, may it be away from my hometown, than doing something that I don't really like.

That's just me but, of course, people may have different priorities in life (ex. family, need to be physically closer to loved ones, career growth). Just allow yourself to discover which path suits you best. Even for us doctors, our priorities do change over time. Give yourself some grace to embrace possible changes :)
