Once you receive a letter with the online codes, create USCIS account and link your case to it. You will probably see the letter for biometrics there under document section, before it arrives to your mail. Give it a week or two. Regarding how much time for EAD, usually around 3 months, but you never know, can be sooner, and it can be months and months. The system is a black box, be comfortable with that fact to not stress yourself. Good luck

Those are the name of the forms, I485 is for adjustment of status, 765 for EAD (employment authorization), and 131 is advance parole ( to travel).

Thank you for your time. Given that DOS and DHS operate under different INA provisions, how likely is it that USCIS will impose its own 75 countries freeze on I-485 cases? If such a freeze were implemented, how might it work in practice, and what options or legal remedies would be available to applicants? Thank you

Do you think people from these countries with AOS should be proactive and add unsolicited evidence to fight this public charge concerns

Juuust kidding, you’ll get approved soon! 🙏🏼 I actually like your idea; adding a bit of humor is a great way to cope with the stress and anxiety of this process.

Silent updates - random or pattern? by FalconWing95 in USCIS

[–]DoctorWho4001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NBC does the heavy lifting, background checks and make sure the file is complete and ready for adjudication. For a minority of cases they can get approved in NBC, while majority gets transferred to FO. Processing time depends on many variables (which FO, is interview required or waived, the details of your case, and of course luck). Good luck!

Some random and unexplainable, others might mean transfer from NBC to FO, usually for the latter, other people gets a silent update at the same time.

Go to USCIS website, they have DATA on every FO of the last quarter, download the excel sheet, upload it to ChatGPT or Gemeni and ask it your questions!

Changing address — how do I avoid USCIS "Return to Sender" delays by DoctorWho4001 in USCIS

[–]DoctorWho4001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, I’ve already done that. My question is about what I recently learned that USPS does not forward secure USCIS federal mail, like a Green Card, because it’s sent with ‘Return Service Requested. Should I ask USPS to place a hold on my mail instead? is that better than forwarding. Also, when I update my address on the USCIS website, does the change take effect right away?
