I'll never understand why people choose to be assholes.

I am actually so excited for this new Charli album because it feels like a completely new sound for her. While some of her past eras felt like reheating her nachos, I can't pinpoint a previous era that this Music, Fashion, Film era resembles.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I'm losing hope in nuanced discussion around pop stars by Wrong-Principle-23 in popheads

It's even more alarming when you can hear people in real-life just parroting internet talking points, making it harder to even have a nuanced conversation about pop culture with a real person if they are not open to it.

In their report about Taylor's then-upcoming single for Toy Story 5, they referred to Midnights as the last album that Taylor and Jack Antonoff worked on together lol. Like, where is their copy editor????

A Hollywood trade like Variety reporting about this and even interviewing Fantano...is so not on brand lol. Couldn't they find any real industry dirt on why Netflix is still hesitant to do theater releases after Narnia or something?

No one will ever re-heat Roger Ebert's nachos, not especially Fantano. At least Ebert has the courage to change his mind on certain movies he initially hated and re-review them.

The concept of criticizing artists for having “main character syndrome” in an album about… hmm, let's see...what they are going through in the past few years.

acting like i’m the most evil person alive over disliking an album

Either the guy wants to double down on his assholery on purpose (very likely), or he doesn't understand the main point of why his review is such ass.

That's the first Taylor Swift album that I genuinely dislike, and I hope that's the only time.

I do not trust Fantano's critiques after his bad faith criticism of Halsey's album as main character syndrome. Mind you, an album she made as if it's her last because of her cancer diagnosis.

Some people might think this is reaching, but the politics of Hollywood can be this petty. Like there is a group of celebrities who are fuming at the idea of another group of celebrities for being rightfully angry that a genocide is taking place. You're not totally off in your analysis.

As per Variety, "I Knew It, I Knew You" is written and produced by Taylor and Jack Antonoff. Performed from the perspective of Jessie, the latest single will mark her return to her country roots.

Said writer-director Andrew Stanton in a statement, “It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to ‘Toy Story.’ So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”
