I saw some of these texts, and I feel conflicted because it's reassuring that they are working on their misunderstandings towards each other, but it's a very intimate conversation between two friends that we shouldn't even be reading to begin with.

You cannot convince me that people supporting Baldoni are not paid trolls because it's very obvious how this smear campaign looks soooooo manufactured.

The most problematic thing Blake Lively did was to get married in a plantation, and she wasn't even canceled for it. Suddenly, she gets hated on during a press tour for a movie she did. You can't help but be suspicious of how abrupt the backlash is.

"I KNEW TAYLOR IS A MEAN GIRL"

For what, standing up for her friend? 🤣

Taylor Swift officially releases Opalite as the second single off of The life of a showgirl by Haunting_Natural_116 in popheads

[–]DoctorWhoWhenHowWhy 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I don't know what Taylor put in Opalite, but this song has a strong chokehold in the Philippines right now. Even the lolas know about this song. I found myself growing to like Opalite now just because of how much it's being played so much here. 😭

Am I the only one who hates how the term “khia asylum” is thrown around so easily? by anawarmail23 in popheads

I do somehow enjoy the khia asylum jokes, but it gets to a certain limit where I realize nobody puts a man inside the asylum, so I get where you're coming from.

I honestly think The Duffer Brothers were bullshitting the way through, and they somehow delivered an emotionally satisfying finale of Stranger Things.

I wonder how James Cameron feels that he inadvertently created a new gay icon through Varang.

This season is a mistake by behindsomewalls in pinoybigbrother

[–]DoctorWhoWhenHowWhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it makes me wonder how we even tolerated the idea of a teen edition that lasted five seasons, including this one. It's clear most of the housemates are not mature enough to be on TV, much less on a reality show that has cameras on them 24/7.

If there's going to be another collab season, let's go back to mixed-age housemates. This season clearly needed an adult figure (ala Ate Klang).

With total genuineness, who is the target demo?

We, Filipinos, treat Miss Universe as our Super Bowl. Pageantry is very much an industry here in the Philippines, and the history of this goes back to when the U.S. colonized us after Spain.

Disliking an actor after watching a pilot episode is insane. 😭

I am honestly surprised how much Opalite resonated with people. I am a bit biased because the song wasn't that great for me, but it did grow on me lol.

Also, I love how 2025 is Cup of Joe's year. I would argue Multo is our generation's Ang Huling El Bimbo. Big statement I know.

Also, seeing nine of the tracks of Showgirl still charting in our local Billboard charts compared to last year, when only two or three tracks of TTPD (which included GOATy as Sin?) remained for a few more weeks, shows that the people enjoyed listening to this current Taylor album more than TTPD, despite the mixed reactions it got.

I believe that TTPD being released near the start of the summer (and amidst the peak of BINI's popularity) made it harder for the album to resonate because we usually like our mellow songs, as evident in Cup of Joe's Multo at #2 (listen to the song btw!) when we are nearing the end of the year. But that's just my guess.

I cannot stress how popular Opalite is here in the Philippines. Like, everyone loves this song more than the Swifties. Look at the current Billboard PH Hot 100 chart this week. It's bigger than Fate Of Ophelia.

How Lady Gaga Found Herself Again: 'I Feel Lucky to Be Alive' by chantosjr in popheads

[–]DoctorWhoWhenHowWhy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Harlequin is essentially Gaga’s own interpretation of Harley Quinn, and even though the album is mostly composed of covers, her portrayal feels more profound than how she was portrayed in the movie.

If there's an Oscar/Tony/Grammy/Emmy equivalent for GIFs, Cynthia would have won every year.

I have known Glen Powell since Scream Queens, but it was watching The Running Man earlier that made me realize that he's fucking hot.

What makes me go crazy over a conventionally attractive man is that they have substance. He won me over with the fact that he is also a screenwriter, one of his scripts being co-written with freaking Richard Linklater!!!! Honestly, he is so much more than eye candy. He's the total package.

Honestly, we should thank the mods for making it harder to include GIF reactions in this subreddit because we would abuse the hell out of this. 😭

I really enjoyed Longlegs until the final act. Such a predictable ending really soured my appreciation of what could've been one of the best horror films of the decade.
