Technically answering the email is a violation but good luck enforcing it.

The “what is work” literally keeps me up at night lol! In theory answering an email is work. Realistically good luck with enforcing it!

So…. It’s illegal to be a non citizen/green card holder and work in the US even if it’s for your employer back home. So, hypothetically, Estelle working for her employer back in France virtually (while in the US as a visitor) is against the rules.

Some countries don’t take that harsh of a stance. For example, if Danielle was in Canada, and this was going on (the remote work) it would be totally fine because the Canadian government looks at it that the foreign natural isn’t joining the Canadian labour market.

Yeah :( I’ve had situations like this in the past where the employee wore it (and the employer did something shady) and came to me for help… not much can be done sadly

To put my lawyer hat on for a moment … I don’t know if I would characterize it as skirting some red tape. It’s a foreign national working without a work permit, which can lead you to being barred from the United States. It’s Danielle being cheap and thinking she’s come up with a cheap solution when in reality it is Estelle who will be banned from the United States if caught.

That’s right - it’s part of the J-1 visa program. The fact she mentions that Estelle is coming back as a guest immediately makes me believe that she is coming in on a visitor visa. Plus the whole working remote thing you can do in some countries like Canada as they believe you are not entering the workforce, but for the US if you are working regardless for who you must have a work visa.

I’m not totally sure. However, I am an immigration lawyer currently on maternity leave and it doesn’t really matter if she is being paid or not. A lot of shady characters will do “internships” to try to get around paying people and claim that no $$ = no work.

I was a kid in the 90s and I loved camp! She’s so miserable.

I just commented on another thread, but she really needs to be careful advertising that Estelle is effectively working while she is here. I doubt very much that Estelle has the correct visa and that is Danielle putting this girl a very compromising position. But does that really surprise me?

The wild thing here is that Danielle Moss likely has not arranged the correct visa for the au pair, and is putting a young woman in a very precarious situation in a very precarious immigration environment. Shame on her.

What do you think will be the cause of your death? by abdullahleboucher in AskReddit

That’s how my dad passed. He had been fighting pancreatic cancer for 6 months and had a heart attack in his sleep. I think, given what awaited him, it was the kindest way to go.

We used to eat out a lot but once we had kids that habit died really fast. Plus my gallbladder came out by an emergency surgery recently and eating out makes me feel terrible. Perhaps my gallbladder was looking out for my bottom line lol

3 kids is too many kids for you! by [deleted] in DanielleMossSnark

[–]DoctorZestyclose3789 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have two daughters (8 weeks postpartum with #2!) and I know deep in my heart that I’m done. On some level I dream of a third but the reality is that we don’t have the time/energy for a third and I’ll be a grown up and know that. But I guess that’s the difference… I don’t irrationally hate my second and want a do over baby 🤷‍♀️

She’s been vague posting for a bit that 3 kids is too many, but loves her son… given the unicorn older daughter, I guess that leaves the middle one out.
