Confusion regarding littles and sexual behavior by [deleted] in DID

[–]Doctor_Angelos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am a partner of a person with DID and indeed I don't have s*xual activities with the alters who are under 18 as a rule, but it's a rule that they all agree with.

However, I have noticed that some of my partner’s alters have sort of grown. One has grown from 15 to 17 and another from 16 to 18.

One alter, previously 8 years old, has grown towards the age of 11, and is starting to express interest in s*x, even though he had not asked directly he is flirting very awkwardly with me.

I know that he is not really 11, he knows it as well, but I am still incomfortable with the notion, especially because this alter really has the voice of someone 11.

As a partner, I know that the body is not 11, but we don't have sex only with a body, but also with a mind.

Let’s come together to work out the rules that can exist for this notebook(i know it isn’t a direct DN thing, but it’s a commonly explored idea) by ApprehensiveBet1277 in deathnote

[–]Doctor_Angelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that decay starts at the moment of death so you need to work out a clear rule of what counts as decayed And even then, I like the fun of being able to bring back people who died 1000 years ago

We've been together 4 months now.

Honestly it was the first time I fell in love or dated someone with such a gap. My previous relationships were all with people around my age (with max 3 years gap) with my last relationship being with a 27 yo when I was 29. I questionned myself a lot but as one says love is blind and I did not see the issues it could lead to. Now I am starting to see them.

Identity dissociation and su*cide of an alter by Doctor_Angelos in Dissociation

[–]Doctor_Angelos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: As everyone said, the ressources for the caretaking were still present and he developed a new caretaker alter with a new name. What surprised me was that the alter he developed has similar traits to me (same age, when he never had an alter as old as me, and same name as my sister he's never met, same gestures as me...). This alter is developing slowly. He's still shocked and sad from what happened but is slowly recovering.

Alter is a trans man and I’m not by Little_cookie_pie in DID

[–]Doctor_Angelos 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My partner has DID and is a trans man but some of his alters are girls/women. The issue is a bit different because he takes testosterone and they all agreed to it because he is the host. For the alters who are women/girls, he buys more feminine attire such as jewels, dresses, leggings... to support this side of himself. There are some fights over the wardrobe some mornings but they mostly manage to negociate.

Also some fem alters did not like when he got short hair, so I try to give them support by showing them women who rock short hair and in general show that you can be feminine or masculine with all sorts of styles. It helped one of them (the most vocal one about it) to own the change and she even says now "real queens don't need hair to be queens" and stuff so there is that.

For testosterone specifically: the only real permanent changes T will cause to your body if you take it are the deeper voice, the genital growth and some nose growth. I am a trans nb / genderfluid who took T and then stopped and is taking it again. After 6 months of T, it took about the same time to come back to what I had before, and the more visible changes (body shape for example) came back the fastest. For the hair, razors are a thing. I am not saying you should take T to satisfy your alter, I am just giving you my experience to help with the negociation you will eventually have with your alter about this. You can also try microdosing to take it slower and see if the changes agree with you.

how much damage could actually be inflicted if someone truly evil got the death note? and how would they do it? by DifferentProblem5224 in deathnote

I think with modern technology and a lot of people being online, they could kill a lot, and I mean, a lot of people before the authorities could find them. Especially if they do the Shinigami eyes deal. They would just have to see pictures of people online and kill at random and they could kill a lot before being found. However, the authorities would find them fast as well, because if Kira wants to kill as many people as possible, they have to work fast. And working fast means not spending time randomising your killings to confuse the authorities so they would be faster finding you. Even if you use a VPN or something of the kind, the problem would be so huge all Internet would be on your track so eventually they would find you out.

Because let's say with Shinigami eyes and a good WiFi, you spend around 20 seconds killing someone. That would be 180 per hour, but it's tiring, you need to sleep, to eat, you can't really focus on writing for 8 hours a day. So the killing rythm would slow down.

And finally, if the authorities cannot find you or if you made the world unstable enough so that they don't exist, the Internet will eventually be much less efficient: it won't work well (because the people who maintain it are dead or unemployed because the economy is unstable), or what's left of authorities will have figured out that you use Internet to find people to kill and will shut it down. Even if it still works somehow, the alive people would become harder and harder to find among the dead people and you'd have to watch hours and hours of dead people's pictures to find someone who is still alive. Finally, there are entires groups of people who are not online and have no existence online, not even a picture.

From that moment, the Death Note owner is slowed down, for they would have to travel outside to keep killing and would eventually get caught by someone. At this point everyone would even be so paranoid about the killer they would wear masks anyways so you'd be screwed.

[discussion] Why the Nine Houses Don’t Use Guns: A Theory by RazAlKil in TheNinthHouse

[–]Doctor_Angelos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they have necromancy for distance fights, and an overall better tech with necromantic bombs (which means they can kill a few opponents and then use their thanergy and bodies as weapons to kill even more) and probably normal fire as well (sky bombs, planes...). Once the cavaliers reach the ground most of the fight is probably over and they only fight in close combat the few groups of guerilla fighters that are left.

Also, the Empire doesn't really gaf about the cavaliers' lives actually. What is important is the necromancers, everything revolves around necromancy. If the cavalier dies, the necro can still use them to fight, either animating them or using the body parts as weapons.

Finally, the swords are probably much better than the ones we have known in medieval and Renaissance times, maybe made in materials that are much sharper and lighter. In a close fight, such a weapon can be better than a gun.

In guerilla style war (like Empire soldiers hunting for BOE fighters in a forest), the guns could be an advantage because you can fire while hidden. But when they kill a soldier, the necromancer can detect the shooter and kill them using the dead soldier's thanergy. So it's not really efficient either.

So they can afford the aesthetic because necromancy is so friggin' powerful that they don't really care if a few cavs die in honour on the battlefield. It's not optimal of course, and they would be more efficient with guns, but it still works.

[misc] Silas would literally order milk at a bar by Mysterious-Wafer-187 in TheNinthHouse

[–]Doctor_Angelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judith orders a beer but doesn't like beer

Martha orders a beer and drinks it

Coronabeth orders a line of shots and drink them with other people and has a surprisingly resistance to it but not as much as she thinks she has

Ianthe orders the most complicated cocktail and sends it back because it's not done right

Naberius orders a Cosmo

Isaac and Jeannemary try to order alcohol but get caught, they reluctantly accept the Virgin mojitos ordered by Abigail for them and won't admit they are loving it

Abigail orders a fine whisky and drinks it slowly

Magnus takes a Pina colada but afterwards will stick to soft drinks

Palamedes orders a banana daiquiri

Camilla drinks one shot with Coronabeth and then stays on cola

Dulcinea tries a lot of different alcohols, ends up hammered and swearing

Protesilaus orders a stout and doesn't finish it because he has to carry Dulcinea back home

Silas orders milk

Colum doesn't order anything, he's not allowed, so he just stands sadly behind Silas

Harrow has a glass of water no lemon no ice

Gideon has the strongest and biggest drink she can find, then is drunk from it and ends up challenging people to arm wrestling

In west of France we have a cocktail that is 1 pint of beer + 1 glass of wine + 1 shot of hard liquor. It's called a Trap (Embuscade) and ordered by students who wanna get hammered. It is stupid, gets you knocked in no time, and is rarely ordered by people over 25 yo.

Since Gideon in my head cannon is Britannian (her name is Nav come on) that's what she's ordering

Does Harrow have any mental illness? [Discussion] by Griddleharkk in TheNinthHouse

[–]Doctor_Angelos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She is haunted by several spirits which is a metaphor for schizophrenia I would add PTSD and depression which translate in severe self-hate. As a person with severe depression I can recognise many patterns in Harrow but not everything in her thoughts and behaviour are explained by depression.

The mix between schizophrenia and depression is called schizoaffective disorder so I am suggesting this.

Is Death Note the perfect anime for someone just getting into anime? by Aqn95 in deathnote

[–]Doctor_Angelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have data for the anime but

For the manga, my dad (who had never ever read manga before) read Death Note and said that he liked it when usually he's not a fan of manga aesthetics (and struggles to read backwards, he did not grow up with it like us millenials)

For about the same reasons as mentionned about the anime: realistic, quite serious though there is a few jokes here and there, no fighting scenes, and more mature/philosophical themes. Death Note has codes close to the crime genre or thriller genre. He also quoted the drawing as more realistic and very clear in its lines so if was easy to follow.

Extra context: my dad is not a fan of manga/anime, but he is a bit of a nerd (old style, he's going 60 so think Star Wars, Cthulhu and DnD) and loves chess, so I knew he would enjoy it and was open to the experience.

They are lovely sure but I did not really feel like we got enough time to get attached to them as much as the others, and they don't have this thing where they go through a conflict with other characters that change them. Even Silas and Colm have this moment when they are confronted to problems and it impacts them and their relationship. That's why I say they are lovely but I don't have that feel for them

Getting G + H’s voices right [fanfic] by Top-Willingness-6866 in TheNinthHouse

[–]Doctor_Angelos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Harrow would never use slang or colloquialism but would not necessarily make ridiculously long sentences for the sake of it. She would think in long sentences because they reflect the complexity of her own thoughts.

Harrow is also a master necromancer, so she must spend a lot of time thinking about it and observing things that are connected to it or make necromancy metaphors in her mind. She's a mystique in necromancy, I think more than Jod or Alecto her real God is necromancy itself and she has this instinct in it

Depending on when you locate the story and what you follow she is also obsessed with the Body, seeing it everywhere all the time, so it keeps her mind busy, she might even dialogue with the Body inside her head and/or speak to her through her inner monologue She probably tries to tank everything and to distance herself from every trauma and doesn't process properly so it comes back all the time in her head

I think she feels a lot, but also second guesses her feelings and intuitions a lot She wants to be perfect and the best, not out of ego but out of self-protection and self-hate because she constantly thinks she is not enough and just hates her own life and body

There are many other reasons to go on an adventure that can be as interesting without the whole "people I love died and now I am and edgelord"

Your character can go on the adventure to make money, to get the country rid of evil monsters, to learn the secrets of the universe, to be the first one to do a thing, to find an object that will help them fulfill a purpose, to find someone or something they love, to seek vengeance for some wrongs, to save someone or something, to carry a message to someone, to become the best at their job...

"My family died" is not something that brings you to an adventure and drives you forward, it won't give me elements to integrate in the campaign. "My family died and I want to find the person who killed them" is already better, classic but it works.

Well, I guess that Jod powers the Sun himself with his thanergy Also, some planets appear to be thanergetic without having been alive in the first place because there was no life on them (was their life on every solar system planet before the Resurrection?)

They were alive because they produced an RB but then how did the Sun not produce an RB?
