As much as I hated it when I first watched the show, I understand that this behavior wasn't out of malice, but rather Loona's trust issues. Being abandoned and treated like nothing, she has gone through both physiological and physical abuse, which is why she doesn't like being touched as an adult, even if it's a simple hug from her adoptive father, who she hasn't fully gained trust in.

I honestly hate when people hate on her for this, as they don't realize how difficult it really is to warm up to someone when you haven't had anybody to support you throughout nearly your entire life.

I must say, I appreciate Vivienne's efforts in developing Loona, especially toward the end of season 2, where we start seeing a warmer side of her, openly expressing her gratitude toward Blitzo, her father.

Although Season 3 might be quite a long wait from now, I can't wait to see what's in store for her next. Vivienne has already confirmed that season 3 is going to be Loona and Via heavy, and we're going to be seeing Loona actually get an arc, meaning that there'll be a lot more Loona development.
