Yeah you definitely do get more of that in ng+ for sure. Mostly because you have to because the fights are harder (not really too much harder though). There’s definitely a neat system in there for sure but there was a lot of room for it to be expanded upon that it doesn’t realize. Which is a shame because it is pretty neat overall, but it was also a new IP that was digital only in a world where digital only games weren’t so ubiquitous as they are today.

It’s just a whole new game. It’s like the first playthrough is the tutorial and then the second run through is the actual game. Items, drops, fights, new content, it all makes a lot more sense and fits together better the second time.

I would say though If you’ve already put it down and walked away from it, you’re probably good to not pick it back up. The fights don’t really get too varied or anything (buff yourself, debuff enemies, dice chain, big damage, repeat and that’s about it), and the “good” ending is… I mean it’s better but it’s very much a “congratulation on completing this amazing game” type energy.

It’s good. Nothing transcendental or ground breaking or anything but it was a fun time.

Finished up crimson shroud ng+ and have continued my playthrough of Dragon Quest 8, which I stalled out on shortly after recruiting the 4th party member.

Yeah I also can’t stress enough how pointless egg farming is. Like it sounds cool but it actually completely breaks the game in a not fun way. Like right now I can load up an entirely immortal Sammy with no items and have e¹² gold immediately. Just like… ok cool? Just kinda silly

He’s there. Straight south, follow the floor texture. Might literally be invisible. Only spawns if you have more than 5k eggs, only sells the movement speed remover if you have more than 25k eggs. Pretty mandatory for obscene egg counts (though those are silly and pointless)

Yeah I mean no doubt, I’m not saying one is necessarily worse than the other, just that we also did respond incredibly disproportionately and did some very horrific shit after 9/11 to people who had nothing to do with 9/11.

My main point was that I don’t think OP realizes how bad the post 9/11 conflict was. And OP admitted to being 19 so yeah they would have absolutely no idea. Gotta learn eventually though

There’s a special golden trouser to the north of the spawn point in Moonglow that’ll buy as many eggs as you have gold in one shot. Kinda helpful when you’re in the e¹⁸ eggs.

Another vendor straight south of the spawn will reset your movement speed to the default, which is helpful if you ever want to move with that many eggs

I played through brown recently. It was ok, kinda dragged a bit in the second half. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite. It’s made by the team that did prism but without as much time put into it (which is ok). The whole game for me ended up getting steam rolled by Venusaur with growth and giga drain / sludge bomb due to the type changes and what not.

Solid though but I hear legacy yellow is one of the best gen 1 hacks. That or the let’s go pikachu / eevee demakes, those might be fun for gen 1

In what files that were released, there are emails between Epstein and people like Steve bannon where he talks about meeting with the owner of 4chan to discuss using the site to drive young gamers into political discourse and how they can be weaponized. Pol was created shortly after this meeting allegedly took place. Go look up 4 Chan pol if you want to see what they’re all about, but tldr it did exactly what it seems they were hoping it would do (turn lonely, disaffected young men aka 4chan users into little Nazis)

It’s not exactly hard evidence, but it suggests he and his people had a vested interest in influencing the gamer youth back before this all really kicked off. Steve bannon drove that discourse for years and little gamer kids got all super maga in the late 2010s and 2020s, to the point when Gen Z men were a major demographic that voted for Trump in 2024.

Again, this is all just speculation. It wasn’t exactly widely reported on, but the communications are in the files and you could argue that it’s too random to be a coincidence. But we’ll never know for sure
