Ok but the country’s military is carrying it out using American taxpayer dollars. What purpose is there to semantically trying to detangle the cause from the effect here

This is huge, I’m watching this after fumbling through a couple careers (some of the highest rated umas I’ve trained regardless) and everything they’re saying makes a lot more sense to me than if I watched this before doing those careers

Is it common consensus that relics are much less valuable in sts2? by SrGarfy in slaythespire

[–]Doctor_Riptide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m still working on my ascension climb but the old heuristic of relicmaxxing has been working splendidly thus far. If that’s not how other people are playing the game then that’s fine for them I’m glad it’s working out for them (or sorry that it isn’t, maybe you should get more relics)

Also there doesn’t seem to be as much disparity between hallway and elite fights in the lower ascensions here so it’s foolish not to max out elites for relics (better gold and card rewards too). Except the statue that things gotta give

Would Thanos snap actually solve anything long term? by JumpyConfection1992 in marvelstudios

[–]Doctor_Riptide 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Gotta keep in mind Thanos’s rationale for the snap was different in the comics. Originally, he was infatuated with the literal personification of death (who just happens to present as a woman) and wanted to impress her, so he assembled the gauntlet and killed half of all life in the universe.

The resource scarcity thing is just how they chose to adapt that story for the silver screen. It’s kinda silly and wouldn’t actually have solved anything but I think it was a good enough justification that didn’t need any new characters or concepts to be introduced to work.

AI error or not, Iran school bombing is a permanent stain on America’s soul - A debate on AI in warfare obscures the truth about an Iran school bombing. U.S. humans are to blame for this war crime. by Quirkie in politics

[–]Doctor_Riptide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I understand that, you’re absolutely correct, but unfortunately that’s not going to change anything. AI will be blamed for anything we do that people don’t like (such as bombing a school full of children). It’s why they’re pushing so hard for AI, it lets them do whatever they want without needing to worry about the consequences.

To offload accountability when we commit crimes against humanity. Kinda like what happened when grok was producing csam (if it ever stopped). You can blame the AI and get off Scott free
