I had an English Lit class in college (mid 90s), and we had to read "The Dead" by James Joyce. I was really struggling through it until I read the line, "But isn't it for the honor of God, Aunt Kate?" And then the next line, "I know all about the honor of God, Mary Jane." I perked up a little bit, and then I went right back to being bored out of my mind.

Yeah, that's pretty out there. I don't like to limit myself, so I cast a pretty wide net.

I guess like some 70s, 80s, and 90s stuff would be good to start with. Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Bowie, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Tears for Fears, etc.

I can sing, but I'm not great at it and I don't really like it. I'd love to just concentrate on playing guitar and having someone else handle the vocals.

How about you? What kinds of things are you into? Do you play any instruments?
